Rich Brian, Joji + August 08 try to Escape the Room | Escape Artists

Anyone familiar with the ins and outs of New York City knows about the escape rooms: the maddening, puzzle-riddled mazes that turn a casual day of city slicking into a game of Temple Run, as friends and crews scramble to cross the finish line. On a recent summer day, we invited the talented young stars that make up the 88rising roster to hang out with us at Clue Chase in New York City, where they were tossed into the depths of the room’s confusion and left up to their own devices to get themselves out. Nothing but hilarity ensues.
88rising, for those that haven’t heard, was begun in 2015 by Sean Miyashiro, and quickly expanded from largely a management company to a full-blown media and label enterprise, boasting noteworthy artists like Keith Ape, Rich Brian (formerly Rich Chigga), August 08, Higher Brothers and more, all of whom have carved out their own audiences and fan bases, leading to 88rising’s relatively quick ascent to the cream of the crop of indie movements.
