This must be one of my fastest turnovers from seeing to making. I just realized I had (almost) everything and started making it. It's currently cooling and bring stirred... So far I'm very happy. Hopefully the missing panthenol (really need to get some) and the added benzoin won't screw me over :D

Colloidal oats and i are add for in each other and i love everything colloidal oatmeal. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, balm, sunscreen, deodorant everything has colloidal oats in them. Plus i use the aveeno 100% oat bath to lather on my face and beard area as a mask and its amazing. I made this and i screwed something up haha.

@clarewhite3004

It's kind of a powdered extract, and it can't be made in a typical home kitchen. Finely powdered oats are often misleadingly labeled as colloidal oats. Aveeno is legit and easy to find.

Many of your other formulations involve blending for 3-4 mts in first instance and then cooling & blending again. Any particular reason this one was 45 seconds only? Thanks for this beautiful formulation 💕
@sensimania
@sensimania 3 жыл бұрын
You don't need to blend until cool down (unless the supplier info says otherwise for a particular emulsifier). You just need to do an initial blend so that the lipophylic and hydrophilic particles become tiny enough to combine together. I've always blended for the first 40-60 seconds and then I leave it to cool (with occasional stirring with a spatula). The emulsion never breaks
@HumblebeeAndMe
@HumblebeeAndMe 3 жыл бұрын
I've been experimenting with less blending again (started there years ago... going back!) and liking the results :) You can almost certainly blend far less than 3-4 minutes for everything I share, I think I've been a bit over-enthusiastic in that regard. Happy making!

Pretty please could you add to your list of requested videos, to do one on the mixing aspect of lotions/creams/butters - why the need to use a hand held blitzer over just manual stirring... why for example, in this one, the initial blitz was enough before finishing wih manual stirring.... why some formulations require time in the freezer between mixing.... why the need to wait til a lotion cools between blitz sessions .... what if my lotion gets thick after one blitzing when a formulation video of yours does 3 blitzes before it starts to thicken ... can a formulation be over mixed.. etc etc. 🙏😊
@clarewhite3004

I only blend my lotions 1-2 times and I prefer to package them when they're still a bit warm and easy to pour (I use optiphen plus a lot and it can go in while it's still warm). I've only had a lotion separate on me once; that one reemulsified with some vigorous shaking and is still emulsified weeks later.
@AuntieTriza
@AuntieTriza 3 жыл бұрын
@@clarewhite3004 Interesting thanks. I see Marie often does 3 or 4 separate blitzes but I rarely need more than 2. And if I do, especially to a body butter, it seems to look overwhipped and split. Maybe climates have an impact too.

Liquid Germall™ Plus (INCI: Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate) is great :) I assume you're referring to an emulsified body butter like this one? Honey won't blend into an anhydrous one. Happy making!

I always link all the ingredients for any given formulation in the blog post, which is linked in the description box below the video (that's one of the many reasons I highly suggest reading the blog post as well as watching the video! If you're not sure what I mean by the "description box", read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/.). Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. It doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop. Happy making!
