Hi Ms. Ellen! I made the oatmeal cream lotion the other day. This was my first time ever making a lotion. I believe my end result turned out pretty good. I use this as a body moisturizer after bathing but I'm having issues with the cream not wanting to rub in. It leaves a white cast as I'm trying to rub it in. As I keep working to rub it in, it gets a little rough to rub in, but does eventually absorb in to my skin. Any idea as to why I'm having to work to get it to absorb in to my skin? I do not have thirsty skin. I've been moisturizing my skin since I was a kid. The oatmeal, milk and honey smells very nice. It's very moisturizing and my skin feel so soft! I'm just trying to figure out why it's smearing a white cast all over when applying. I can't wait to try some of your other lotion recipes!
@EllenRuthSoap7 ай бұрын
I've not had an issue with white cast?? Did you simmer the oats well to make the "oat milk"?
@LeighF-vl3ep7 ай бұрын
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! I simmered the oats for several minutes like you suggested in the video and I used a tsp. of colloidal oatmeal. When applying, it's like how some sunscreens do when you apply it all over it has that white cast and difficult to get rubbed in. It does eventually absorb after a few minutes and feels great afterwards! I'm wondering if I should try a lighter lotion recipe of yours??
