Yes yes yes what a vlog!! Thanks for showing us both sides of Delhi. I loved this one and that mall is incredible :)
@odomangulati7079 Жыл бұрын
Those were not sides of Delhi. They were Two SEPERATE cities. Old Delhi vs New Delhi. The dirtier old delhi is Far more Richer than the New Delhi. Old Delhi has business men who are millionaires. New Delhi looks good, but only has middle class living there. Old Delhi is congested due to centuries of neglect and its impossible to spruce it up unless there is major reconstruction and that is impossible in a democracy.

😢😢 I'm crying tears seeing that you didn't only go to old delhi like other vloggers. Thank you so much for that. It eternally pissess me off how vloggers deliberately show old delhi when its not even a tourist spot which is supposed to be visited by foreigners. Hell, even people from new delhi don't go there that much. Truly thank you for that.

24:47 i understand your frustration but i think its completely fair in my opinion. Actually, the 'indian price' is nearly non-existent or rather its just nominal. The main income comes from foreign tourists. You also have to understand that even if Indian Economy is larger than Britain's, the purchasing power parity and per capita income is world's apart. As for why the price discrimination isn't in Britain well, the same reason. Britain mostly have visitors from western countries and they have nearly similar per capita income so THAT would be real unfair. And as for britain's eastern visiters, well, Britain is already ten times expensive on its normal prices for anyone from the East or let's just say, India. So if they keep the price even higher then that would just be even more ridiculous. That's why there's no price changes in Britain. You will often find price discrimination in low per capita income countries, mostly in east asia as well as south asia. I think its completely fair tho because a foreigner already have an advantage in terms if income parity compared to a local so a difference in pricing is justifiable.

I won't categorise Old Delhi as 'Poor Delhi'. Some of those shop keepers selling basic food snacks are also multi millionaires. Plus Old Delhi has many shops which basically run the entire Indian Wedding industry having a massive turnover. Also, Whats been referred to as 'Rich Delhi' by looks, is mostly visited by middle class, which is enormous in India. Also, most tour guides will surely take you to Old Delhi for some of the best food experiences.

Tbh it might give a bit of annoying feeling seeing local prices and then foreigner price different , but i guess the reason why it happens is because value of rupee is not as strong compared to dollar or pound. That's why they inflate it for foreigners. But I agree that it shouldn't be berzekly high amount as high as 10-20 times more. 200 would have been a decent amt for foreigners.

So I don't think ppl don't want you to see old Delhi. It's just about safety. I have lived in Mumbai my whole life. I was visiting Delhi for getting a Swedish visa and wanted to tour the place. My friends from Delhi adviced me against visiting old Delhi, esp during nights. I am an Indian and I already know the difference between old and new Delhi, still they adviced against it. Atleast not during night. There are certain areas which might pose some security threats, and I know the language as well, but still they adviced against it. Even in mumbai you have places like dobhi ghat and slum areas which tourist visits, but most of locals will advice against it. Because its still much more secure place. I know certain places in sundsval sweden as well where there are drug addicts roaming under the subway bridges. Just a side note Sweden is one of the most safest places on Earth, but still some swedish asked me to take a different route. So its not because it was embarrassing for them, but ut was just safer for me

International students going to the UK have to pay 2 times the amount of fees to study. And we are talking about 10 to 20k pounds in extra than the local Students. So it's not fair in the UK as well.
@dunneytravels Жыл бұрын
University fees are completely different, even U.K. students have different fees depending on where in the U.K. you study. England can be 9k and Scotland can be free. An international student wouldn’t have to pay more for anything whilst they’re in England, everything else would be fair and equal between locals and internationals.
@asnikhil9 Жыл бұрын
@@dunneytravels I mean that still doesn't justify the fact that the UK Universities are taking advantage of international students. I mean we are talking about students that come from the poorer part of the world. The UK and Europe in general have done a lot of bad things in the past to make sure they have a very high standard of living. In India everything in general is a lot cheaper for tourists and sometimes it's crazy cheap. I mean I am not justifying that what they do at touristic sites are right and I don't mind it being the same. But the UK does the same at a much higher level. That's the point. Hope you have a wonderful stay in India.

Whereas there is huge disparity in level of income of an average Indian vs an average international tourist in India.
