Literally started pumping my fist when I woke up this morning and checked into Bucs Nation to see if he had signed yet. He and Mike have an undeniable connection and with this more mature Baker, he seems to have formed into one helluva leader for this team and I'm excited to root for him.

Always thought the Browns moving on from him was a mistake, especially after beating my favorite team in the Steelers to get their first playoff victory since coming back into the league. Gotta love how the Buccs now have their guy while Cleveland still only has more questions about their situation.

When they were letting him play as hurt as he was, I knew they were done with him. If they wanted to keep him long term they would have made him get healthy so he's around for a long time. Then all the idiots would say, "that's because Baker demanded to to play!" So f'n what? You think Andy Reid would send Mahomes out that injured even if he demanded it. We all saw it in the Quarterback documentary when Mahomes hurt his ankle. He demanded to go back in and Reid told him that he may as well go get the x-rays because he aint putting him back in. That was in the playoffs during do or die time. Browns coaches were playing Baker held together with duct tape during the regular season trying to save their jobs and salvage a season that was never going to end in a playoff run and they used Baker up to do it becasue they didn't care how his health would be next season.

Nope. Not a mistake at all. The boy still rarely beats good teams that aren’t falling apart like Philly. 100 mil for a mediocre QB? Ok I guess. They actually have a competent QB in the division so he better do better than 9-8.
@samengle96027 ай бұрын
@@bryan_witha_whyy I'd rather have Baker for $100 mil than Watson for $240 mil to suck and get hurt. Flacco got them to the playoff after being on his couch. Also, weird behavior to call a grown man a boy.

Glad that Baker Mayfield OFFICIALLY got da bag!! The way the Browns did him dirty was one of the more shameful things I've seen in the NFL. Even up to the point where Baker wanted to play for the Colts; the Browns denied him from getting a head start w training camp practicing and all of that legwork stuff. And when the QB musical chairs finally stopped...that's WHEN they finally traded Baker to the Panthers. Again, shameful behavior towards a QB that brought relevancy and tangible playoff optimism to their organization. But then came Sean McVay and the Rams. And the week that was... That moment was literally Hollywood script stuff! The following off-season, the Tampa Bay Bucs organization realizing that their Tom Brady Era was over; was ready to enter the "rebuilding year" with the much-maligned former number 1 draft pick and figured why not. Why not give Baker a shot. A chance to see if he could exceed expectations for the Bucs team as well as for himself. And he did it again. Taking a team that many had not even given a chance, let alone a thought to win their division and play a HOME playoff game against the former NFC CHAMPS!. Was so happy for him and the team. Their wins were gritty tough not always pretty..sometimes ugly. But always played w HEART & that fighting SPIRIT of leaving everything they had to get a W. It's funny that you shared that Jason Kelce & Fletcher Cox retired w that as their final loss. I'm sure retirements like that happen all the time. But then it got me thinking, Ben Roethlisberger also retired after Baker's win in Pittsburgh. I dunno what that means in the grand scheme of things. But your observation made me recall that. Anyways, glad that Baker is back w the Bucs! Chris Godwin & Mike Evans along w their other skilled talents will be fun to see with another year of familiarity under their belt together. I'm loving that Baker has FINALLY found a team that wants him as THEIR guy!

Rooting on Bake since his draft! Always liked him and he's ben in some crappy situations. Played hurt on Browns, went to Panthers who had 2 coaches that season, then goes off to Rams as QB 4 or 5 for a few games, and now with the Bucs he has found a home without drama and negativity. He played amazing last year, very accurate under a whole new system with a rookie play caller and went to the playoffs. I believe the Bucs will be even better.

Now I wish I had a Baker Bucs jersey instead of the Browns jersey. I got hosed, because the $80-ish one that I got went on sale for like $20 a couple of weeks later, and then they got rid of Baker the following season. I sadly can't afford a new jersey.
@Buc_Stops_Here7 ай бұрын
Eisen is saying what I have written - Baker is betting on himself. Two year contract at $30 million each, $5 million in incentives again. If he plays well, the Bucs will renegotiate before year 3 and sign him to a longer term contract for more money. If he plays badly at all in the next two years, he can be cut with little penalty to Tampa. So the Bucs are committing to Baker - if he performs. Good deal for both sides.

He's seriously overrated. He only won 9 games in the weakest division in all of football. If Brady, Rogers, Mahomes, Jackson, or Burrow wins only 9 games, the media will torture them.

@@johnholman3200lmao I’m pretty sure they lost 2 of the 6 divisional matchups. You also don’t seem to know they went 5-1 to finish the season after losing 5 games straight. Then barely miss the nfc championship by maybe 2 game deciding plays (credit to the lions they’re dawgs)

Not sure how he "bet on himself" lol the guy wanted to play QB in the NFL like so many other people do, and he played well enough to get a new contract when he was given the chance in Tampa. I don't think doing your job should be considered betting on yourself. What else would he have done to garner the opposite? Pull an AB and walk off the field in the middle of a game? Give me a break.
