The Contract is essentially a 2 year deal with the way the guaranteed money is structured. Assuming Health, they have best QB in the division (yes, Qbs in division arent great) and become playoff team. As a Falcons fan, i dont think think Kirk is good enough to win a Super Bowl, but hes absolutely an upgrade and playoff team while not being committed that long to.

Let me give a little different slant of why he was signed by Atlanta. As a season ticket holder there has been lots of rumbling in the season tickets holders that they will let their tickets go. Arthur Blank is still on the hook for close to a Billion Dollars on the new Mercedes Benz Stadium. He needs his season ticket holders to stay put. And he needs to fill the stadium every Sunday they play there. If Cousins Can play winning football and a bonus getting Atlanta to the playoffs when what he is being paid is chump change. Atlanta made it easy for the Vikings not to go after Kirk. I'm glad for him as he seems like a great character guy and family man, and I enjoyed him while he was in Minn. What I'm worried about is JJ as he is such a huge talent. I'm hoping Sam Darnold can be okay as a fill in this year, but concerned he may be a Christian Ponder 2.0. Vikings should draft a QB. McCarthy or Penix may turn out to be good (or even great), but they will need time to grow. Huge learning curve for most QB's out of the draft except for a select few.
