This Niners team reminds me a lot of the 94 team.. that team had multiple playmakers on offense, a solid defense, great QB… and lost a couple games in the beginning of the season, but then started steam rolling teams and blowing teams out on a weekly basis…and went on to win the Super Bowl by blowout

Not very many people are talking about it, but they should be, because here's the deal: Chase Young to this year's defense is what getting Christian McCaffrey was for the offense last year. This defense (along with the entire team) was slumpin' hard going into the bye... after the team had already acquired a D-Lineman by trade (Randy Gregory), nobody was expecting anything more to happen. But with the deadline near, the 49ers swung the deal with Washington, and HOLY COW... you wanna talk about a difference maker. I don't know if he lit an infectious fire under the rest of the guys with his personality, or if it's a him/Bosa tag team deal, or if he's just that damn good, or all of the above!! All I know is what I see, and what I see is a team that is getting hot at the right time in all three aspects of the game. We as 49ers fans have had WAY too many "close, but no cigar moments" lately... 2011: Kyle Mf'in Williams 2012: 3 fades to Crabtree while Gore watches with teary eyes 2013: Mediocre Crabtree tries Sherman, and fails 2019: Defensive collapse, Jimmy's overthrow 2021: Jarquiski Tarrt drops the game 2022: No Brock, no chance PLEEASE let this year be different!!!

Purdy not only has better stats than Dak, he is making the entire position look easy to play. His ability to see the entire field and make the best decision and its usually right is insane. As much as I blame Moody for that miss, I also blame Kyle. He had two time outs. Instead he decided to kick the field goal on second down. he could've ran two more plays, called a time out and got the rookie kicker a shorter distance. Yes, granted, he was drafted for his long legs, but there were 2 missed FG in that game by both teams from the 40 yards. It was windy. All things considered, KS should take some of the blame for why we don't have a much bigger cushion in the no 1 seed rn. But if the Seagauls can beat the goofy Ducks next week, in Seattle where they haven't won in 15 years, we are looking pretty neat

@@nicoparise-jc5fs Please don't go there about "multiple". Purdy won't be on his rookie contract forever and once the 49ers have to start paying him REAL money, it will be very VERY difficult to keep the team together. Plus Trent W is no spring colt, he could retire at any time, that will be a huge loss. I for one am enjoying what I see on the field from the 49ers and hopefully they get a ring this year and demolish the Cowboys and Eagles along the way.

Clarification: I do not follow or cheer for any team in the NFL. I watch...and that's it. First things first: Dak Prescott has had EIGHT seasons in the NFL. Brock Purdy has essentially had ONE. You should expect Dak to be this good by now. You DON'T expect "Mr. Irrelevant" to be this good at this point in his career. So if you take that into the mix...then the clear MVP winner is Brock Purdy.
@tflo75

Purdy is playing better regardless and it's not even close. The yards per attempt and completion are clearly in Purdy's favor, every metric besides raw yardage and TD's which he's 2nd in the league with far fewer pass attempts. The 49ers are averaging 9.9 yards per pass play, they are developing into a machine and it has everything to do with Purdy's moxie.

@@maxmalinao1430 Garropolo was always "gun shy". Almost like he didn't have any confidence in airing it out. I guess that's what happens when you make wrong reads and can't see wide open receivers. Lance seemed like he just didn't quite "get it" or completely trust his coaches, plays, and game plans

Agree with RE 100%. Here is the other thing; with that O line, if the 49ers are in the red zone and they line up with the stars on the pine, with Mitchell and Mason at RB, Bell and Jennings out wide and Woerner at TE, they still look like a team that can score against almost any NFC defense. Scary

So I watched Jags-Browns, KC-Bills, Cowboys-Eagles, and Niners-Seahawks yesterday. Brock was the best QB out of all of them, Dak, Josh, Jalen and Patrick included. Dak a close second, but Brock was better -- crisper, more decisive, more accurate with his passes. Didn't get rattled at getting stopped, getting intercepted, at BA's fumble. Just plant, look, and throw. I would take Brock over any of them, and on any decent team. (My philosophy is that, if a team is up and down terrible, there's no reason to draft a qb, heralded or not. You draft the best player available, offense or defense, and build from there. If it happens to be a qb, fine, but if it's a lineman or a linebacker, that's good too.) Josh and Patrick were similarly unsteady and out of rhythm. Josh hasn't looked comfortable all year, Patrick still hasn't adjusted to his receivers. Dak was OK, but he looked shaky on a few occasions. The Cowboys should have been able to run through the Eagles like sh-- through a a goose. Trevor Lawrence was HORRIBLE. I realize he was injured, but he had three interceptions and should have had a fourth, and was indecisive and inaccurate. Had a third and something on the 30, within field goal range, then got sacked for 13 yards and took them out of range. Truly awful. But he got the ball back with a few minutes left in the game with a chance to tie, and you knew that if he somehow managed to do it, people would have said how GREAT he was and how this was a "defining" moment for him. he's 6'6" with an arm like a rocket so that's what he gets, which really irks me. Flacco was only slightly better, but he's getting praise for watching TV a few weeks ago and yet doing enough to win the game. Fine, but Brock was "Mr. Irrelevant" not too long ago and people will point to Flacco as a "Super Bowl winning quarterback" on a defensive-oriented team. Brock has barely played a season's worth of games. He's aggressive, but not a crazy out of control gunslinger, like a Brett Favre early in a game. Although Brock goes through progressions like any quarterback scanning the field, he seems to see all the reads simultaneously, like his gaze is "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once." And he moves like a ninja too, stealthy and quick, for the most part staying just out of range from the rush while hanging tough as he throws. It was interesting that in commenting about his TD to Deebo, he didn't just say "the Seattle db," or "the safety," he identified him by name, Jamal Adams. With all the players you have to prepare for during a season, he remembers details like that. It must be kind of intimidating. Say you're a db and it's been reported that you have a slight injury, maybe a tinge in the shoulder. Brock's gonna know that and probably throw balls that are going to take advantage of that, make you defend with that arm, or try to tackle a receiver after a catch with it.

49ers should pursue Ndamukong Suh. Bosa, Young, Gregory, Ferrell, Armstead, Hargrave, Suh, Kinlaw, Givens. Would be an amazing DL rotation. Oh, and we haven't even gotten to play with Kalla Davis yet.

The Lions and Cowboys play each other in week 17, the Cowboys also have to play the Bills and Dolphins, the Lions have the Broncos which looks like a tougher match now. The Eagles have one tough game left next week, not sure they're beating a desperate Seahawks team. The 49ers have the Ravens as their one tough game left on the schedule. We'll see how it plays out but it will be hard for the Cowboys to stay on top of their division and for the Lions to move up to that #2 seed.

Losing 3 in a row: 1st they had to fly east and play an early game against a team coming off a bye and they lost 3 major starter on offense early in the game and it was raining. And they lost on a kick at the end. Then they lost after Purdy got a concussion on Monday night on the road. Then they played the Bengals coming off a bye. That's how they lost 3 in a row.

Over the last 20 years....only 2 teams have carried a winning streak of 8 games or more into the playoff and onto the Super Bowl and then actually won the Super Bowl... 49ers are on a 5 game win streak with 4 more to play. Assuming they get the #1 seed and a bye in Rd 1 of the playoffs, they would need to win 3 more games, including the Super Bowl...and that would make it a 10-game winning streak! MMMm......I love stats and "%'s"....but it's hard to bet against the team right now! If they win out right and get that #1 seed...they just might pull off a SB Win!
