Wilson is the starter cause he will throw a tantrum and be the most immature selfish fake douche as a backup til he gets cut or traded to somewhere he can start. Every second Russ plays football he is concerned with peoples opinions, which is why he sucked in Denver last year in spite of a 26-8 ratio. He completes a decent percentage of deep balls but takes fewer shots than most cause he is so scared of interceptions which is why he led the league in sacks. As a Cleveland native, sign him for five years there is absolutely no chance of him making the AFC championship with Pittsburgh.

While the Steelers were stinking up the field last year with Pickett and Trubisky, whose job was it to know that their best quarterback, Mason Rudolph, had been riding the bench all along? 2. And, having discovered Rudolph was a winner, why did you trade him? Following the logic behind the Steeler's coaching strategy is harder than reading ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics sideways. Whats up with that schedule?
@DeCurtaRican2 ай бұрын
I actually love the schedule and think the schedulers did the Steelers a favor, and it’s an even bigger favor with the injuries. The Steelers get an opportunity to learn, grow, and get in sync with each other before playing the tougher games. They also have a chance to get done guys healthy. That’s gift! One more thing: Russ has historically played his best football against his toughest competition, which has usually consisted of teams with elite QBs and great defenses. This was true even last year. There’s a pattern with Russ, where he almost seems to get bored if there isn’t a real challenge. Believe that’s partly why he’s at his best when coming from behind and playing in the 4th. But he’s still a great closer; between 2012 and 2020, his record in games in which the Seahawks were ahead by 3 or more points at halftime was 54-0! Russ also largely has a winning record against every elite QB he has ever faced except for Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes (2-3 but should be 5-0), Lamar Jackson and Phillip Rivers - if Rivers can be called “elite.” Rodgers didn’t pull away until 2020. Until then, Russ and ARod were tied 4-4. Those types of nuances matter!

Both Russ and Cousins came into the league together (where they were competing against each other collegiately) and are both now on third teams. Russ is superior in every other department. That small rushing advantage isn’t nearly enough to compensate for Russ’s superiority as a passer, especially if we discuss 4th quarter metrics. If we discount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be better than Fields’s by an even larger margin, even if we include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics. While both take a lot of sacks, Russ has taken them due to bad/inconsistent O-Lines and pure stubbornness on his part. Fields takes them more because he isn’t a great reader of defenses. I really think the Steelers had their eye on a Pickett (minus Matt Canada) vs Mason Rudolph preseason battle. Problem is, the Steelers have never shown much respect for Mason and he wanted to at LEAST look around. Next problem was, he COULDN'T look around, nobody could. Well, except for Russell Wilson, he was free to shop around before the free agents out there and Mason had to just stand by and wait. Once Wilson showed up, practically for FREE, the Steelers had to take him and Mason was in no mood to be fighting for 2nd or 3rd. What Pickett did was foolish, Wilson is "older" has not wowed anyone for years, but played decent ball, decent enough to start and WIN. Pickett had ONE game without Matt Canada and played well, first 400 yard offensive game since Canada took over if I remember correctly. If Wilson did not impress or got hurt, Kenny would have slid right back in as starter, the Steelers were not hunting another QB. Now Kenny is behind a much younger QB, good luck. And before anyone thinks Justin saves the day, he has NEVER impressed enough for someone to say "franchise quarterback". More like "can sometimes make something happen, then other times, messes everything up.

The way Justin Fields is getting done needs to be investigated...trey lance and a bunch of no name QBs get drafted in front of ..then Chicago drafts him just to stunt his growth when he's clearly a superstar..I think it's about why he transferred from Georgia

Russel Wilson will never understand the AFC North rivalry, which will be the Steelers downfall

Has a team ever won their opening 8 games and then lost their next 8/9?

How the NFL put that schedule, in that way, up for the Steelers is honestly kind of ridiculous and just wrong. It is what it is, and they won't make excuses because of it, but my goodness. Not cool at all.
