My highlights and tribute to QB Rich Gannon. Went to four straight pro bowls. Was drafted by the New England Patriots but traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 1987 and played until 2004. Best season was 2002 with 26 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, 4,689 yards passing, 418 out of 618 passes completed, 50 rushes for 156 yards and 3 TD, and won the NFL MVP. NOTE: I don't own or claim to own the copyright(s) associated with this video; absolutely NO copyright infringement is intended!

Hello, everyone. It's been a long time, but I'm finally back and first of all I just have to say I'm truly shocked to how much views this video has gotten over the years! I filmed highlights from KZbin on an old 90's camera and edited it this all together on pinnacle studio when I was a thirteen year old kid. It's so funny watching this now, but I'm incredibly happy to see how much y'all like it. I always thought I was the only kid in the world that loved Rich Gannon and that's why I made this video in the first place. Long story short, I'm way older and way more experienced now so I'm going to be making more Raiders videos again. I promise they'll be way better quality than all my old videos. I do want to get anyone's opinion on a few things too. first of all, want do y'all think about music like the music used in this being in highlight videos? Would you rather see highlights with just the game commentary or incorporate the game commentary and still have the music like in this video playing? I already have other video ideas that I think y'all would enjoy, but I was also thinking about making an ultimate Rich Gannon highlight video and genuinely would be interested to read what y'all think. I think that's about it, though. I'm sorry for the long message. I promise I won't be gone for another 6 years, and I'll try to have some more content out very soon. Also, the Raiders are winning it all this year!!! 2018-2019 SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!

Gannon was truly a badass, he had everything you needed in a QB. Great accuracy, great mobility, clutch, true guts, but most importantly leadership, that's how he made the Raiders great those years. If I could pick one QB to be on my team, there's no question, I'd pick Gannon. There aren't many quarterbacks I'd rather have then him, I think Palmer has the potential to re-create those years as well. Go Raiders

Good video. Rich Gannon is one of my favorite Raiders of all time. I saw him play 13 times (Raiders went 10-3 in those games that I went to), including week 2 of the 2004 season when he threw his last career touchdown against the Bills. Although he did not win a Superbowl, statistically he was the Raiders best quarterback since Kenny Stabler. The 2004 Raiders might have gone 8-8 or 9-7 if Gannon had not got hurt in week 3 against the Bucs.

Brad Lamb Derek Brooks broke Gannons neck not Suggs. It happened in a week 4 win over the Bucs in 2004. First Raiders vs Bucs game since the Super Bowl. It was also a typical dirty Derek Brooks head shot.

You're right bro. Gannon did change the culture and it was much needed at that time. The great thing about Stabler and Plunkett; at that time the culture needed no changes...we were still great! I remember those 2 Seattle losses that year. Something like 16 Raider turnovers in those games! Ridiculous. Raiders killed Seattle in the champ game tho! Great memories. Time for Raiders to make new great memories!

That's cool bro. I think Plunkett had more INT's than TD's because of the beatings he used to take with New England and San Francisco. And Stabler was simply THE MAN. But, bottom line, I loved all three Raider quarterbacks and I'm sure you did too!

Gannon was just a guy who got it done and played the position the right way. Great example is at 0:36...COUNTLESS other Raider QB's get sacked there or end up throwing an ill advised pass (Schroeder, George, Collins, MARC WILSON, The Bust Who Shall Not Be Named, etc). Gannon has been the only guy until Carr arrived (with a brief stretch by Jason Campbell) that I felt secure with the decision making we had with a QB. We were good from 1999-2002 because of him. Without him, even those 2000 and 2002 teams probably wildly underachieve. I hate that so many Raider fans have basically wiped out all the good he did because of that Super Bowl performance, which history shows, was the biggest stacked deck ever. Not even the Patriot QB's in 1985 or the Giants QB's in 2000 had the opposing defense CALLING OUT THEIR PLAYS. Gruden knew us inside and out...and we went with a gameplan, sabotaged or not (don't think it was), that played right in to a great defense's strength. We should never forget that with Gannon, the Raiders were 2-3 in 2003 having lost two games by less than a TD and then were 2-1 in 2004. They were still competitive as they would cease to be after his career was ended.

Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot Yeah we got him as his age progressed, got late into a silver and black uniform. It's definitely not his fault for his Super Bowl performance as great players have downfalls like every other human being has. Take for instance Ray Allen's game 3 against the Lakers in 2010 with 2 points, or Joe Montana's Divisional round game against the Vikings in the 87 'postseason just because you have a bad moment doesn't take away from your greatness you're very correct sir.

I always got a good laugh out of people that called him "Gannon the Canon". Dude was smart, had great accuracy and timing, but rarely did you see him go past 10 yards and if you did you saw floaters with accuracy issues. Probably the best example of how good Gannon was is the game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, Gannon and Co. just tore up a really good Steelers defense, they couldn't stop the RAIDERS offense at all. Pass after pass after pass with a run sprinkled in here and there just to keep Pittsburgh honest, it was a rout. Gannon was also very good at reading defenses and audibling, like the time he did a hand off to Wheatley on the left side and it went for a TD iirc, just a gaping hole and no one around.
