It’s clear that this kid had a good family and really needed to learn this lesson but I still and always will find the idea that we have to appreciate like and be thankful for someone just because they share DNA with us. Not all families are good and having the same DNA to me doesn’t make you family. In this situation it was clearly meant to be that the kid just wanted to play on his iPad because he thought he was better than everyone else but the same situation could be playing out with the kid avoiding the cousins because he has social anxiety or just genuinely doesn’t get along with his cousins in that situation he shouldn’t be forced to hang out with people that make him uncomfortable or upset. Family can be a wonderful thing but that doesn’t mean it always is

this story broke my heart. I wish kids would realize how truly blessed and grateful they are to have their grandparents in their lives. there are many people out there including myself who would give anything just for one more day with their grandparents. I miss my grandparents every single day and grateful for the time I got with them. I remember lot of holidays where i had to sleep on the floor not because they were poor , but because there just wasn't enough bedrooms and i didn't care because I was at Grandpa and Grandmas house. I loved spending time with my Grandparents.
