Having worked in the service industry, I never asked how much change a customer would like back, it’s their money after all. That line is a testament to the poor writing in general, and really calls into question if Dhar Man or his writers have worked in that industry, or at the very least considered what it’s like. Because -unfortunate as it may be- the customer is entitled get their change before they decide to leave a tip, and to assume otherwise looks tacky. That’s not to say service workers don’t deserve to be tipped well regardless, nor is it a critique on the delivery driver as a character. Again, it just speaks volumes to how shitty and unrealistic Dhar Man content can be.

We didn't say anything because it wasn't worth it to us, but we never saw that waitress there again. seems like at least one of the customers was not as lenient.

I think that might be an American thing, I've seen it referenced a few times when I watch films set in the US or read books based there, because of the tipping culture there. It's apparently (I don't live in America I don't know for certain), a common question because tipping is in some cases literally how they earn any sort of wage at all, since their actual wage is lower than minimum (does that apply to delivery drivers too there? I'm not sure). I think that might be why it's such a natural question for the delivery driver in that video though?

Former Pizza Hut employee here! Pizza Hut specifically, or at least the one I work at, allows employees one(1) regular pizza for free on their first day, and from then on one(1) personal pan pizza on days they work, though in most cases the employee has to make the personal pan pizza themself. So, he could have gotten it for free, but then his mom would still need food. plus maybe dominos is just better

Okay okay okay. As a pizza delivery driver of 8 years I have to comment. First and foremost, there are absolutely customers like this kid. And a lot of them. And they're usually the rich people who don't tip. Second, it is on the driver to make sure they have the correct order. But I can guarantee getting the order wrong hurts the driver way more than the customer because it means more gas, more to wasted, and probably no tip. Though if the customer was turning into someone who complains to complain I'd absolutely hand the order off to another driver to deal with even if it meant not getting any credit for the delivery. Also, 5 bucks on a $14 order is a nice tip from an average house. It is not a super generous tip from a rich kid who's trying to do something nice lol. Lastly, 8 years was more than enough for me to also realize I never want to work a job dealing with customers again. I'm an accountant now.

It’s pretty much expected.. as someone who works in the restaurant business, we ask that pretty much every time (or even if they want their change back at all depending of their amount) I’ve never had anyone offended by my asking, but most people pay with card so it’s not too common. I totally get your point about wanting your change first before deciding how much you want to tip, but it seems a lot of Americans are programmed to think about how much they want to tip while their paying or getting their money 🤷🏽‍♀️

Okay I showed my friend this video, and she actually thinks the delivery guy is the one being a douche - because the order was wrong, and the guy suggested taking the pineapple off, and then later suggested that they reheat the cold pizza. I’m mindblown that she thinks the delivery driver is in the wrong 😆🤯
