Fun fact: Coating food in gold was quiet popular in southern Europe during the 15th and 16th centuary due to the fact that not only it showed one's wealth, but also because gold was said to be healthy for your heart - the latter was more like a marketing trick rather than some medieval medicine knowledge in order to make rich people fall for this scam. When the price for gold started to rise thanks to that, some of those nations there outlawed this practice, so the cooks had to come up with a new idea as a replacement for the gold and eventually stumpled upon the Moorish technique of coating meat in the powder of crushed old bread and frying it in oil afterwards. Turns out that this practice had many benefits in comparison to the banned gold coating, such as better taste, lower price and the option to utilize otherwise stale foodstuff. That's how schnitzel became popular in the western world. Meanwhile, over 500 years later, some dipshits take pride in getting scammed with a multiple centuaries old trick.

@@kirknay Actually, it can effect the bottom line pretty severely as very few people actually just want bare minimum survival wages. Not only that, many would want benefits and in some cases pursue litigation with financial support from other groups or their own coworkers in order to force the owners to give them benefits. Etc etc etc. Theres a reason when a business enters hardships, it starts getting rid of employees instead of keeping employees and trying to radically change the habits of the business. Giant corporations do it and they have all sorts of extra capital. If it didn’t effect the bottom line in a severe way, they wouldn’t feel the need to let people go. Especially as by doing so you’re likely willfully destroying a relationship with a skilled employee who more than likely wont come back when you decided you’re secure enough to start hiring again.

When I went to the US, I ate a golden burger that a portion of its profit went to charity. The burger literally didn't taste different at all and they COVERED this thing in gold foil but I assume that was the point as its for charity. The burger also wasn't overpriced at all being under $40 for the rest of the meal that it came with. If you're paying like $3,000 for a steak, that shit better be wagyu because wagyu has actual value over slapping gold on standard quality meat. I've only eaten wagyu one in my life and I will probably never eat it again as its just so expensive however I understand there is an actual difference compared to normal beef and I respect that. @@theghost9808 yeah exactly. paying more usually means a higher quality product due to better quality materials being used and the product being made by someone who has better skills and/or will put more effort in. but there is of course an upper limit to that, where going beyond a certain price doesn't actually mean it's better quality. I have gone to a few restaurants where your meal would be about $100 + alcohol, per person, and they were extremely delicious and well prepared. I have never had something that cost more than that, but it just seems like the food that costs more than that (with some exceptions, of course, since I have never eaten the food) that all you're paying for after that point is "the experience". My mother used to work at a restaurant that was one of those that people will come from all over the east coast to eat, rich people and people having big celebrations in their life almost exclusively. It was very expensive, and it was a beautiful restaurant, with live music, and impeccable service. The food was delicious, but almost all of your bill was going for everything not on your table. That kind of thing is wonderful, if you're celebrating something special, but I just don't see the point beyond that.

I had a leaf of gold on a hamburger once at universal studios, [definitely a one time thing, you don't need to do it twice] but we only got it because it was the same price as the regular hamburger, only about 20 bucks. yall crazy if you think putting a shiny coat of paint of a piece of meat is enough to charge half a thousand dollars

For someone who is taking chem now, I can confirm that gold can't even react with anything, and will probably be eaten multiple times without a tarnish in sight.
@crisschan24633 жыл бұрын
Lmao if that true then our gastric acid cant dissolve it? Then imagine eating a gold leaf that was once eaten before and dumped by someone hundred years ago

Yo hiring a cleaning service isn’t that expensive. My mom had one and we were not wealthy at all actually struggled sometimes. But to pay somebody once a month or every other week to do just the basic stuff is super crazy cheap. Like for a small house can be 20 or $30. And if it saves your weekends it’s probably worth it, or in my mom‘s case she just worked too much and never had the time, but felt the duty to have things cleaned since I was a little kid always playing on the floor and stuff. I don’t know I’m just rambling but I miss her a lot. Lost her a few months ago after two years sleeping next to her hospital bed and she was my last family member and I’m only in my early 30s. I have to remind myself everyone’s had a rough few years with this Covid and shit and we all need to laugh at dumb people and try to at the very least not bring negativity into other folks lives if we can help it. Because for a lot of us out there the only folks we got left are all the strangers in the world.

yep, its wanna be rich people wear prada, gucci and eat 600 usd steaks - i rather save the cash and get me another condo makes my offspring richer and so my grandkids, people spend money that way are not rich - they might made some money accidendly but thats about it - richness is something else, it start at 100k a month - and people make that much know exactly how hard they had to work, how much risk they had to take to get there :)

There are millionaires that go homeless within a year... this is just an understatement. Spend more than you make = broke.

When The Last Of Us Beats MGS3. You know people just don’t know nothing about what a good game is. Last of Us is not bad but MGS3 is much better.

... ! Gold wrapped sushi actually lasts a little longer in the fridge. How that might be useful I have no idea, it isn't cling wrap. To be honest the best way to store sushi (ameri-cooked) is in individual non-lubricated vinyl condoms in your little dry ice backpack cooler so you can have it for dinner on the second day of the backpacking trip in front of the group of people who are collectively willing a bear to eat you after nightfall. No point in having it the third day, by then people will laugh at you for carrying that much dry ice just as a joke.
