Stepping out to lead can be a scary thing. And that's OK, so long as fear doesn't hinder our progress in leadership.
During VOUS Conference 2019, pastors Rich Wilkerson Jr., Chad Veach, and Mike Todd collaborated on the message "Scared but Prepared."
Fear of being stuck in place, fear of an uncertain destination, or fear of missing out are few compelling reasons leaders take a step back. Yet, when we listen to God’s promises we can rest in the fact that he has already gone before us.
As we develop as leaders our trust in God must turn to action. Focus on the craft and make it even stronger through practice. Seek out mentorship and never neglect the impact our example can have on others. Those are key ways to beat back the fear that would keep us in the shadows.
Leadership is God’s will for our lives. He prompts us to walk by faith, not by sight. So let's prepare by living as though we are already in the place we want to be. As we value our role God will maximize our efforts, elevating us in due time. And that will far outweigh the fear.

Justin I actually personally attend Mike Todd’s church. He mentions sin in basically every message he preaches. Also repentance, hell, etc. But his focus is less fire & brimstone and more Jesus loves you anyway & He doesn’t care what you done, just come home. You can’t clean a fish you haven’t caught. 😊

Oh my goodness. People, please read your bibles. Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment. To say that Jesus was scared is a complete misrepresentation of the word. There is no proof that Jesus was scared. Jesus was bearing the weight of all of the world's sin when he was praying in the garden. He was praying and he was feeling the full force of the weight of sin...the sin of the whole world...to the point that he was sweating blood...he wasn't sweating blood because he was scared. His prayer was a profession that there is no other way by which people can be saved to overcome sin and eternal damnation and that this business he was going about was so stressful for him that he was sweating blood. The whole point of this part of the book of Matthew is to show that there is no other way or else Jesus would not have to be flogged and crucified. Notice how none of the things that these guys are talking about is about Jesus - this verse is ALL about Jesus. They keep making this about them and their experiences. My Lord and Savior, Jesus was never scared! I hope these pastors will start teaching the word of and not their "word of experience". Please, if you are watching this video and others like it, hit pause, read the word yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal his word to you. I almost never comment on YT but had to say something.
