she sings that she obeyed her husband, but he still beat her. she breaks down and kills him. she wanted a star (family happiness) got (a grenade - violence) now she wants to hug him because the anger is gone, but for this you need to dig up the ground and get his corpse

But this track about home-violence in Russia. violence, which in the post-Soviet territory is considered as norm, in Russia the legislation provides when you beating your family, it is a fine under the slogan "do not fit into alien family"

Many of us ( who bothered to research) know that this song was released as a reaction to the decriminalisation of domestic violence in Russia. I absolutely love ic3peak, and everything they stand for… I think my favourite song is “I kiss your corpse”…it’s eerily beautiful.

You need to remember that she is from Russia. Women are more mistreated in Russia too. Russia is not like America. They don't have alot of rights like here. (Sadly). She sings of what's happening around her/to her.

I definitely agree People don't understand how privileged it is to be in America Compared to other countries.

From what I'm seeing Russia isn't like america whatsoever, and definitely seems like a very rough place to live, it's funny how people act like women in America have it worse but compared to other countries that can be debated.
@svetlanagavazhuk90822 жыл бұрын
maybe i'm too late to explain this, but this song actually talks about domestic violence. In Russia there's no rules that condamn the abuser or protect the victim of dm, in fact in the majority of cases judges actually victim blame (4ex: "this is your fault if he/she beated u 'cause u make him/her angry")(this explain the verse "sorry if I did this but you made me very angry") All ic3peak's songs talk about russian society and go against the government, in fact, a lot of their concerts was cancelled and one time they were even arrested (and then released) during a show for "drugs abuse" (in another song, Nastya said that her " blood is cleaner that the cleanest drug") Russia is not a free country, but despite of that, there's a lot of courageous people that go against this bs gov

Domestic abuse in Russia is legal and in some places even expected. Little girls are taught to behave a certain way so when they get married they will know what is expected of them and they can avoid the worst of the mistreatment. This song is about the effects and consequences of that.

They have a video for a song called 'Marching' (or March / Марш) For the video, they got in a lot of trouble from the Russian govt. They got detained at a train station while on tour and held for 6 weeks (iirc) and had to cancel a bunch of shows. You don't even need the subs on to know what it's about. I almost cry every time I see it. Or if you don't want to make a political statement, check out the video for 'Fairytale'

Э which is their capital E, so it makes sense they made their name russian by saying "Ice Pick" with a Russian accent and the 3 because it looks like their E. But thats just my opinion and guess. Theyre the reason i started learning russian. I love IC3PEAK so much!

She is singing about the regime in Russia in their songs and they are actually risking their life for this. How can people react to it like its just some meaningless song, you even have the subtitles here, just try to read between the lines. Even i can see the real meaning of the song although English is not my native language. No hate, I just needed to say this. Thanks
