The reasons that in my opinion that this is the best diss track of all time is: 1: Cube wrote this song in minutes 2: He performed it in one take in the studio 3: it took down not just NWA as a group but ruthless as a record label 4: it drew absolutely no response after the song's release 5: Jerry Heller's managerial career was forever tarnished 6: Eazy E was left with contractual dilemmas with the rest of the group which lead to Dre joining Death Row records 7: Cost Eazy E his life 8: Yella & Ren still feeling the after effects of Eazy E death

I'm almost 50 so I remember when all this went down. Cube's first album solo was called Amerikkka's Most Wanted and he didn't even mention NWA but then NWA released the EP "100 mile and runnin" where they threw a couple disses at Cube calling him Benedick Arnold and a few other things. May I suggest watching the movie "Straight Outta Compton" it's a good history lesson on the whole NWA saga

There was no response for this. Ice cube single handedly dropped NWA. The group was already on the way out but this track was the nail in the coffin. There was no response to this. After this track, the group disbanded and the Eazy E/Dr. Dre beef kicked off shortly after. An interesting fact about all this is that according to ice cube, himself and Dre, as of 2017, have not discussed this track and probably never will.

FYI: the "Never had dinner with the President " line wasn't addressed in the movie. This was important because NWA was under scrutiny from the Feds regarding their large fan base agreeing with their rebellious narrative. Easy E meet with President Reagan. Its in movies too as well as music. So many artists that write their own songs got the publishing waived when they took the couple million. The Beatles didn't own their songs until well after Micheal Jackson passed. Paul McCartney had the chance in the 80s to put up a few millions to buy his songs but felt offended he had to buy back his ideas well when mj grabbed it was worth obviously much more. The few film makers that put their own $$ into their movies make it all back & the profits that's how George Lucas began so wealthy after the first star wars they were going over budget & the studio said well Give u the $$ to finish but now we want the profits & George's idea for the merchandise. Lucas was life no thanks & bet big on himself by mortgaging his home so if star wars bombed he would be bankrupt & homeless. The gamble paid off.
