I think it's rather funny or ironic that Richard wanted people to feel disgusted at the idea of Guy and Marian being together. However almost everyone had mentioned that they would rather have Guy with her than Robin. lol

I think that has more to do with Robin being a very unlikable character to many people, rather than Guy being a good person
