He should’ve given a justification for kicking Everything Everywhere off his list. It was genuinely entertaining, relatively low budget for a movie w/ sci-fi elements, and also incredibly heartfelt. What, did it make too much at the box office or something?

"Nope" was pretty bad. There's virtually no story in the second half of the film. "New Yorker" film criticism is also pretty bad, and has been for 60 years.
