I think his backhand is better because he hits the ball lower. He hits forehands too high at shoulder level and thus has to try to create too much topspin to compensate

Andrew Bryson it's a pretty conservative eastern. hence the super loopy swing path and regular whip follow through.

He used to hit semi western, but I believe in an attempt to be more aggressive and hit less loopy, he moved to eastern.

I have the same grip. It’s in between eastern and continental grip for the forehand. Of course semi - western and western grip looks prettier but it works for me.

His forehand is too unnatural and hard to react to fast ball. Not effective. But one thing clear is that he is also one of top rankers in the world.
