Don't you just want to give him (Richard) a hug? He's obviously fully committed, and just because he's throwing money at the project, that's no guarantee of success, he needs to prove to everyone out there that this isn't a vanity project, that he has the skillset and connections as well as the enthusiasm to make it work. I'm sure he's thinking "Why" several times a day, but as long as he can match that with several resounding "Becauses" then he will get through. It's a tough field, and you never know as much as you think you do, but I wish him, and all the others out there doing what they passionately believe in, all the best of luck.

This is so fascinating and a true service to the public that has this need. My father has a 1969 Chevelle, and besides an uber-bougie and expensive classic restoration shop (which charges 'the sky's the limit' pricing), there are no restoration services here in the states. So owners have no other option than to do any type of restoration or preservation on their vehicles themselves. And from personal experience, that is not only incredibly daunting, but expensive and time consuming. I dread it whenever my father says work needs to be done on the car. And for owning an increasingly rare piece of Americana, it should be a joy and a privilege. Thank you Richard and congratulations on your new shop. In realizing your dream, you've created a service that will help others. And if an Amazon series was to sprout from this, we would definitely watch. 🥰 Add this to the million-and-one reasons I wish I lived in the UK. ❤🇬🇧❤🚘
@EricHamm
@EricHamm 2 жыл бұрын
1969 Chevelle? I am pretty sure companies started making replacement panels for GM and Ford classics in the states. You will always have to pay premium to do classic body/frame work. That car is not particularly rare so if you know what is going out you should start looking for backup replacements either in auction sites or new versions they make online. Imagine if you had a Renault Turbo or something super rare and needed it restored.

The years of watching driveTribe have paid off: Funny story: I watched this months ago… repainting booth gave me an idea when Looking at improving our paint setup… machinist was giving me a quick tour of his shop. He showed me where they were trying to paint a very smooth and uniform surface on some expensive materials for neutrino detection… not very successfully… ignore the highly radio active detector they pulled out of a salt mine in New Mexico… and it was a nice setup but looked at how they were venting and was like your always going to have turbulent flow in that room, he was like what… and then share a link to this video and they were like wow! We got to build that! Thanks Richard!
