Fair criticism to be honest. Just throwing numbers like 1000hp doesn’t make something instantly cool. It’s a P1, you don’t need to throw unnecessary mods on it to make it cool. @cray9862 ай бұрын
It's definitely possible that Tavarish does not meet his goals in power or speed, but for Richard to say it's no longer a McLaren is pretty ignorant. People modify cars all the time, and Richard should know this because he has driven countless engine swapped cars. If you put an LS1 into a Ford, it's still a Ford. No one would say " Oh look at that custom built unknown kit car." It's still a Ford, just like Freddie's P1 is still a McLaren, I mean it even still has a McLaren engine ffs.

Tavarish LITERALLY took it to the PREMIER McLaren P1 guy in the UK who said: "Rebuilding the hybrid drive is dumb, its heavy, outdated, proprietary and prone to failure. @@Fortzonbut is it worth having the thing in it? Because the car having all of the same “comfort” features, and the “functional” features being improved upon, it’s still the same car it was before, just better. That is no different than buying a car and putting a better drivetrain in it. It’s still the same car, just better. Does that make some niche group of posh collector types cringe, deep in their souls? I hope so. Because those guys are the reason all of those cars have become more about status symbol badges than the actual car community they came from. Unless it’s an antique, in mint original condition, it should not be a bad thing to make the car better. Antiques in original condition are their own unique thing because so few last long enough to become an antique in the first place. But that’s part of why it’s not supposed to be a bad thing to have a car be made better by someone other than the original company that made the car. Some of the best cars have started out by someone taking a car and making it better, and then being recognized for having done so by the company allowing them to go nuts and build their own version of the car from scratch. You can’t have that happen if the car owners are asked or even heavily incentivized against it. Which is what the collector community pretty well lives off of

He removed it only because he can't afford to fix it. That's not about technology, that's about money, which he doesn't have.
