This is amazing! Obviously M-Sport are most known as Ford's official WRC team, but I also remember them for running the GT3 Bentley Continentals in the mid-2010s which were my favourites! You can see one on display in the lobby at 0:54 next to the Seb Ogier Fiesta, but I also find it fascinating that there's at least one Bentley still in the workshop - at 0:38 and 1:13, on the left of shot! Wonder what they use it for, whether it's owned privately now or if they use the chassis/car as a test mule for other things? Either way, really cool insight into the operations of a major international racing team :)

Richard kept referring to it as a race track. It's not its a test track and if i remember correctly it can't be used for races ir rallies as per the planning permission. It's not open to the general public, no doubt Malcolm will not be amused if people try to get in Its not exactly been a secret that its there

@stuwilsonrallying2 күн бұрын
Not as far as I'm aware, if I remember there was a fair few conditions when planning was given. Noise is one I believe, if you look at most of the videos online of them testing the WRC cars they have additional silencers fitted. It's a test facility no different in a way to MIRA or Millbrook

The C.DIFF toggle does not send power forward or back; a common misconception! What it does do is change how hard the center differential locks the front and rear axels together. Much how the inside and outside wheels rotate at different speeds in a turn, so do the front and rear axels in a turn as well. Locking them together would make it a bit more skid happy but is really intended for high grip on loose surfaces You could argue the gearbox does not output equal power front to rear when open (GD are a bit front biased i believe?) so locking the diff “sends” more power to whichever axel would otherwise have less. but it’s not like it sends more than 50% to either when locked.
