The reason the Richard Hennessey and Louis xiii isn’t age stated is because some of the older vintages in the bottle are under 40% ABV. Thus they add young 10-20 year old juice to boost the proof to 40%

When you said it ruins you, I absolutely agree. Once youve enjoyed the high end spirits you never go back. Louis XIII is unforgettable. Starts rich and oaky, finishes with a strong raisin after taste. If you have the ability, please try Tasseron Lot 29. Its amazing as well.

yeah, you know there are different types of drinkers but imo if you are not thinking, you are just drinking. trade mark saying proverb by eat smoke drink authorized by eat smoke drink But if you just have cognac sure, if you just have Lxiii sure hard to tell difference but when you side by side 2 heavies and 1 relatively normal cognac, you can truly tell the difference, i mean, chalk and cheese but if you are not used to high end spirits then you will say 'it is just cognac' issue is we always still try to drink relatively normal spirits because you can get good well priced stuff but we will generally stay away from generic mass produced whiskies that are uninteresting. A waste of calories, waste of experience.

I've had the Tasseron Lot 29 and wasn't as much of a fan of that as the Hennessy Paradis, or any of the bottles I lent to Henward for this video. I'd go to the Paradis every time. Emirates have both the Tasseron and Paradis on their flights for First Class on the A380's.

Yes Richard Hennessy is much harder to find now and price has skyrocketed. I don't believe it's actually worth more than the Louis XIII and in fact the Hennessy Paradis is better taste, quality and definitely value than the Richard Hennessy in my opinion at 1/3rd the price.

I have a few older bottles of Richard Hennessy. It is claimed that a portion of the liquid is 300 years old, according to the booklet. Older than Australia... It is an amazing drink and very different to what you tried here, which is very different again to what I just purchased in 2023. Hennessy are rapidly running out of older casks. Which is a shame! We may be seeing the rapid demise of an extraordinary product. Remy Martin just keep blending to the Louis XIII flavour/quality profile. It is not, and never will be close to Richard Hennessy!!! I have not had the most extensive experience with the cognac but this was one to remember. A good friend had a bottle each and he was generous to me. In fact a few of our whisky club guys are very keen to have me try some crazy shit! I did side by side here to ensure I could really have perspective...300?!wtaf

haha, These bottles are all dependant on who is buying, the old bottling of the 13 is not worth more as such, more interest factor. but if you happen to encounter a collected in auction houses, you woud get a good price but it generally is same new expressions

@@dei-wan-grey3888 I would maybe approach an auction house, that is a real treasure but tbh.... why sell it?!?! Honestly, Try it. Open it. drink it, have a small bit every now and then, for a special occasion. you could make cash from it but you can never replace the experience. For perspective I would buy a medium priced cognac bysame house, say 250 to 350 in price. Side by side them so you see the dramatic difference and really et that perspective, what a treasure! also, invest in big cognac balloon glasses as they make a HUGE difference

Its pretty embarrassing that both $5000 bottles are diluted to the legal maximum. Tells me exactly who these bottles are made for. I’ll buy a $500 bottle of cask strength 50 year old Armagnac instead
