Richard LeGrand Oceanfarer - Best Everyday Diver? Automatic 200m Sapphire Bezel Under $400

They updated this watch yet again. They added female end-links, Drilled lugs, Now 39 mm, And the Sapphire Bezel is now domed as well. They also changed to C3 luminova....I love how RLG continues to update/refine their watches. I ordered one and green a few minutes ago. Thanks for continuing to show us all of the great micro brands Chris!

this is what an "homage" should look like! i.e. you have all or most of the design elements of the original, but interpreted in a new fresh way... "homage" should be a "tribute", not "a cheap copypaste"! that's why this is the best Fifty Fathoms homage. it has all the hallmarks... the numerals + batons of the FF from the 50ies, but applied like more modern references and using a more modern typeface... then the baton hands like the original vintage, but executed in a more "modern and polished" way, and then again the bezel markings more like the original (except for the triangle at 12), but with a modern sapphire bezel. and it all comes together in a congruous, sensible design where the influence is very obvious, but manages to not come off as a cheap replica. microbrands, take note! and then it seems they maybe even upped their game with the new one coming next month (at least preorders), with some fun new colourways, and even a DOMED sapphire bezel insert!

This is a great looking watch, it looks really clean and simple, but looks like it could be dearer than it actually is.. Zelos could take a few tips from these guys, there is something cheap looking with a lot of the recent zelos releases.

And Miyota 9015 movement with date for their watches without date window instead of using the Miyota 9039 (like Richard LeGrand). I did like Zelos, but I feel like they are not a microbrand anymore, although they still have this thing about the lume that I love. A lot of models, but there is not enough love for everyone, that lost the point of microbrands.

Lol yea there are obviously differences in the style however the quality is on par maybe slightly better on finishing. Draw backs being lack of micro adjust on the fly and screw links...

I have both the mk 2 odyssea and the mk 3 odyssea "oceanfarer". the mk 2 has a better deeper case back and a ceramic dial which is stunning. The Oceanafarer lacks these and has a major flaw to me as the case to spring bars are too close for any strap or nato unless using "curved" bars. This has destroyed two pair of straps due to chaffing....

Not sure but think RLG have or are going to change there logo , another channel was showing it off - looked very like the San Martin logo which i'm not a fan off , the watch itself look's very nice , female endlinks are the best imo :)......... P.S a couple of the colourways were available at about $329 on the RLG site a couple weeks ago , think the white dial and black , i'm sure if anyone was interested in one of them, drop RLG an email and see if they will discount for you :) They gave me a discount code months ago for the Atlanticus after i missed out on there sale :)

Actually by design this is what I'm looking for. A BlancPain Bathyscaphe design but without paying a fortune. Anyway there are few things which disturbs me. Mainly the branding and marketing. It's everytime awkward when asian watch brands are usibg francophone or other european sounding names without any relation. Also the Logo is nit consitant. On other Richard LeGrand watches they are using the letters "RLG" in a shape reminding on Tag-Heuer, like many other cheap copycat watches on Ali. But for the Oceanfarer they use only "RL". Of course to make it look similiar to "BP" of BlancPain. Also the overall case and bracelet desihn is quite same to those of Lorier Neptune, which appears like that bith are using the same chinese supplier of bracelets and cases. For another example Baltic has a better branding and marketing. Even if they are also not a manifacturer and git their parts from oversea. But their branding name is related to theur own history and roots and the name Aquascaphe is a transparent and open salute/hommage on the Bathyscaphe of BlancPain. So the whole brand and backround appears more well thought out which people can identify with.
