Perez is a good guy and a smart coach. I heard Rick was one of Perez's assistant trainers. Nate kept bugging Perez to come over full time at his gym in Stockton so he sold Richard Perez boxing to Rick. Just what I heard. I was going to coach for Perez many years ago but my work hours just didn't allow it. He is a good guy though.

I felt that he was set up to lose with his corner’s/coach’s help. I listened to the advice in the corner. I know about the mistakes mma fighters make when transitioning into the boxing ring. These things are obvious and well known, and it was so bad and obvious that Diaz did receive the training, nor corner support from this so called coach. He may be a good coach, but he was not being a good coach in this fight with this fighter. He set him up to lose. Lame is the word to describe the coaching effort I witnessed here in this match. That’s the real truth. There was absolutely no direction given to get the win. There was not any encouragement to score more points, or anything. Just lame remarks between each round, and I don’t count this as a true reflection of who is the better boxer because of the obvious disadvantage performed by his so called boxing team. Perez did what he was planning on doing which was to ensure that Paul won, and that he did. Paul was boxing. Diaz was lost, and given further misdirection in his corner between each round, ensuring he stay lost, and never find his way back. So congratulations Riches Perez, and all your corrupt elite power players who planned this all out. I’m m sure they made their money, and won their bets, and all that jazz!
