I drove 50 laps at TMS a few months ago. I got better and better and passed a whole bunch of slow pokes until I told the instructor "Hey! I can do this ALL DAY LONG!". I looked over and he was fast asleep.

Great instructor. The RPDE crew were always the best. I did Daytona back when you followed a lead driver, yellow light flashing slow down, green light flashing catch up lol. 147mph not breathing for eight laps was one of the best times of my life. Highly recommend this.

Awesome, what an experience that must feel like, it would be such an adrenaline rush. I've never been to the States yet, but do have an American car. I would really like to do something like this one day.

I was uncertain whether to do this or not based on the videos I'd seen but your video has convinced me. Having the instructor in the car seems better than the older format following a pace car as you get better instruction and looks like you get to go much faster as well (as long as the instructor is happy with your driving of course). Thanks for sharing.

It was a totally awesome experience for sure. The instructor was Robert and I guess it was just the luck of the draw to get him because they all switch around jobs so it's near impossible to get the same guy.

Thanks John. Wasn't that still a huge adrenaline rush. Sorry to hear that your instructor was an ass. I ran daytona again this year and almost got the 170 mph I wanted to get but then again my instructor was awesome. Check James800f7 for some videos I've done if interested daytona #2 is on there.

@@skippingrhyme4386 When this was done there was not a limiter on the car. The instructor in the car had control of the hp. If he was comfortable he would cramk it up. My other top speed was 169mph. I was very disappointed the third time with the limiter. It sucked!!

Fun to watch!!! I had the opportunity to do this at the Vegas raceway 13 years ago. I think it was funner to drive alone and follow a pace race car in front of me, rather than have someone in the car with me like this guy. I'd kill to do this at Daytona Speedway though. Good job, James!!!

Great video but I hate to break it to ya you didn't do 164. Not unless the video was slowed down or the length of the track changed from 2.5 miles. Last lap was 58 seconds give or take a second so you did about 155 on that last lap. Still pretty awesome though I can't wait to do it myself. What package did you get and how much was it?

Looks like fun James. I need to ask though, I've seen a few of these videos online here, and everyone is taking their time heading around the track nice and slow. Why? How come nobody is seriously running around these tracks? Not like the cup guys of course, but up at higher speeds?
@James800F7
@James800F7 11 жыл бұрын
The reason that you can't start ripping around the track when you start is that the instructor was control of the hp. with a dial from 10% to 100%. If you stay in the line that he wants you to be in he will gradually turn it up. If you watch my video, at around the 6th lap you will see him look down and turn up the hp enough that I could really feel it and I say ( I can feel that ) When I go back I will keep my line and my foot to the floor the whole time! Can't wait till May!

Cars i run on advance levels are built at 850 horse. Which pros running . Look your camera and time your last lap ,divide that by the length of the track and that will give you the true speed .

@@James800F7 Student cars only equipped with 600 horse power cars ,with 6500 rpm of torque, also student cars are 6 inches higher . Pro cars are 2 inches from the ground ,and equipped with 850 horse power ,with top end of 8500 rpm Better stability ,better control ,better ground force ,and special with most of the tracks have turns at 2.5 G forces Also a car with that much power can accelerate well on the turns and quicker which can glue the car on the track .
