I did this in the late 80s. I am riding along, and I still remember almost every turn. Doesn’t seem like things have changed much. Engine, tires, the way the air moves the Karts around, and the skittering under hard braking coming off of the big track, all look very familiar. Great run, great video.

Terrific video. So fun to watch. I played with some fast Karts on a few occasions with a guy (Tom Geerz, Grand Rapid, MI). He used to do shifter Karts around the US.. including Daytona. If I recall teh shifters back on the late 80's got up near 125 / 130 at Daytona. I watched them for a few hours in 1989. Seemed so slow from the infield. Your camera did a great job of letting the speed be felt. So jealous. I'm 60 now. He's gotta be 70+. Awesome job.

6:00 that was such a sick push, full send into corner. I would have been like, "Oh shit! I don’t know how to take this corner this fast!!" Almost like forgetting where you are and missing your break marker. That's how I think I would feel any aways. That was super cool though. I really like how you let the other diver back in after the push. I have no karting xp, but I would love for iRacing to figure out a way to make a model for leaning and sliding like y’all do. Can’t just put Karts into iRacing and expect it to feel real. It won’t and they would need to develop something different. You got yourself a new fan.

VR could be the solution
@MicahAlvarezRacingАй бұрын
Well I mean with the game/sim engine and physics. Maybe you do too. So the sim would need a way to capture users leanning inputs and somehow convert that into something in the game. Hmm might be with me doing a KZbin video about it and getting iRacing attention. It would be sick to get a real kart sim. Yeah VR would help translate that data to your mind but I guess the term we are looking for here is motion tracking input. Epic video.
