The best pair on Death in Paradise. They loved each other but he was too aware of what expressing his feelings to her might mean for their careers. Best to have her everyday in his life than to risk his job and not have her around. He struggled with his feelings. Ben Miller mentioned in a behind the scenes video that he wished the writers would have allowed Richard and Camille to "get together". I think that shows the bond and chemistry they had.
