Hardly routines, he was merely making references to a couple of Pryor's observations to make a point as they do at these sort of ceremonies. Why would he need to have big balls to make references to works of a friend (and a mentor) who he had known for over 25 years? Robin Williams had established himself as a legend long before that evening anyway. If he was a 20 year old comedian saying those things, then yes, that would've been someone with "balls".

It ponders me - why Robin Williams was never honored with the Mark Twain Award. He was much better than most people who received the award. Pryor and Winters were definitely worthy. He should receive one even though he isn't with us.

Need I say this... In Robin Williams’ early beginnings, he was one of cast members on the short lived Richard Pryor Show on NBC along with Marsha Warfield, Paul Mooney and a few others. Jonathan Winters may have been his idol...but Richard was the one that got him started.

Imvho, If you ARE NOT racist and African Americans know 100% that you aren't ...you can tell racial jokes, ironic puns, and use all the racial tropes to be funny without any social reprise. Robin Williams fits the bill. Don't try this at home please, especially if you haven't accepted the fact that we all may be afflicted with the psychopathy of racism. Richard Pryor thank you for the jokes and laughs that help us with being human. Peace And Love.
