Steve Martin is one of those people whose funny comes from all angles. He's silly, he smart, he has gags, he has jokes, he is a immensely talented writer, performer and comedian.

I don't know why, but, even though I've always loved Steve Martin as a comedian, I never enjoyed him as a banjo player. He just doesn't seem to emit the kind of "soul" I have heard from the true southern or blue ridge, etc. banjo players. I can only say I am honest when I express my opinion.
@josephbrosk43843 жыл бұрын
Just a thought, but maybe you are watching Steve Martin play the banjo instead of listening to him. Those "true southern or blue ridge, etc banjo players" tend to be bluegrass only, Scruggs-style only. While that in itself is very good, real banjo music comes in many flavors, and Hall of Fame banjo players (like Earl Scruggs and Steve Martin) understand that. One of the best, if not THE best , banjo player in the world comes from Switzerland! His name is Jens Kruger.
