I'm certain that there are more than just I who would consider 90 minutes of your shared wisdom anything but tedious. I enjoy every word and frame.

I learned how to turn by buying every book and VHS tape that Mr. Rafffan released starting back in 1985. It was such a joy to find him still at it on KZbin. Like you, I enjoy every moment, as I found such wisdom in the way he shows his mistakes and how to refine the design and keep going.

Really enjoyed watching the four of you with this month's project. It was really interesting watching how you approached something that you have not made before. Thanks again to the four of you for all the work you put into these monthly projects.

You may not be totally delighted, I think it looks lovely. The feathering between the tigerstriping almost looks like an escutheon. Many thanks for another educational and entertaining video.

Very nicely done Richard. I love the wood. Very unusual. Nice shape to the bowl. Your version is wider than Mikes. I like it. I haven't seen the other two yet. The four of you always do so well. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

Very nice, complex and logical procedure. The result is a original and artistic box; ...in fact is more than a box, is a beautiful ornament. Keep going, Richard, never stop, please.

What a wonderful box Richard. Reminiscent of some old fashioned ink well holders perhaps. I really enjoyed watching this one. The extra plus for me was that I learnt a lot a long the way. Thankyou

Thank you Richard for another wonderful video. I appreciate you mentioning the lathe speed more and more in your videos. It is beyond old hat for you, but if you could mention how you are positioning the height of your rest as you switch tools and the rationale for that, we beginners could learn more. Yes I have your books, but I still thank you again.

I love your videos and own couple of your books, I think I saw you live in Auckland at one of the clubs in early 90s? Anyway my request for consideration would be to have a short text summary of the speeds used, wood used and dimensions as a quick reference. Thanks as always for another great video. I have watched all four of you do every four way project since the start and learnt a lot.

You seem to be using shark jaws on most of your many recent videos is this by choice or the best tool for the job you are doing at the time???
@RichardRaffanwoodturning25 күн бұрын
I use the full range of Vicmarc Shark Jaws available for VM100 chucks. I use the chuck that best suits the job. I never use standard jaws because the Shark jaws have a far wider range of applications.

Most viewers commenting like to hear why I'm doing what I'm doing. In other videos where I just get on with it there are complaints that I don't say why I'm taking a particular approach.
