Darwin is a son/brother not a pet anymore. we was a pet before because at the time he didn't talk so they treated him like a pet and once they found out he could talk and walk (because at first he had no legs) they adopted him as their child, and the reason as to why he sleeps in a fish bowl was because Anis (I think that how you spell it) and gumball share a bunk bed and there is no other room for a bed, so thats why he sleeps in a fishbowl then a bed. at least this is my own answer to it feel free to form your own.
