There seems to be a small handful of evolved land animals like her and the monkeys that allegedly 'employ' her, but we also see unevolved land animals like the Seagull from "Pressure" At the end of Feral Friends we also see a "Neptune's Sun" that effects land animals, so there's a good chance Neptune evolved a hand full of land creatures as well.

Just looked it up, and Squidward is in fact an octopus. The reason he's called Squidward is because it sounds better than Octoward. Squidward has the distinct bulbous head that octopuses are known for. He is usually only drawn with six visible limbs, as having eight was too difficult for animation and made him look burdened. However, he is seen with a full set of eight in brief segments of "Pressure" and "Sold!" he's a Pacific Giant Octopus to be exact. Squids tend to have a cone shaped head

BUT based off of the Mrs.Puff Theory we know that the writers include things for people to pay attention to and later evolve with it in later seasons, so some of Alex’s theory’s might not just be theories and actual part of canon. Of course, Nick isn’t gonna say it’s true, weather it is or not, but the evidence is there.

Ok, so heres a theory: he started out with the whale meat, and then when he realized that a) the whale meat wont last forever, and B) that he cares too much for Pearl to kill her for more whale meat (and besides, she isn't gonna grow to full whale size) He creates the "family recipe" with his mother: Slaughtering all of the Crabs in bikini bottom to add to the meat. Also, has anyone else noticed that there aren't that many plankton in the series? And you all thought that the 4 pounds of ground plankton in the ""false Krabby Patty formula" was fake? Fools

1: The reason there aren't any crabs in the bikini bottom is because they all live in spread out cities, to not ruin other crab's businesses. There was an episode where mr crabs goes to get an award for most greedy crab. This makes sense because crabs are very territorial creatures. 2: in the same episode it is shown that there are many different plankton that are all related to the main plankton.

I agree with AA-RON plus on your theory on Sandy and why she's there because she is a scientist that has evolved into a talking animal to fit in knowing that the same subjects from Animaniacts had test animals about the same time when SpongeBob went back in time of how they first began and those subjects were Pinky and the Brain. Sandy is a prototype from her species for I believe she talked about it when she wanted to go home back to Texas where her family lives naming other test subjects but she was enhanced by enhanced technology and this is why she could survive under water pressure because they given her equipment that can stand that type pressure underwater and plus she on about the water and always drinking in tea But anyhoo I'm not Alex but you are right or onto something AA-RON

The Sandy thing; I have a theory. At the end of the same episode, Frenchie comes to warn Patchy that Neptune's moon is always followed by Neptune's sun. Both Patchy and Sandy are reverted to their primitive forms with Patchy being a cave man. I think that after Neotune evolved his own subjects, he later came up with the moon to watch the de-evolving cause chaos around their own cities for entertainment. Some of the other Greco-roman gods saw this and asked him to do the same with their subjects. This is totally something that they would do. The olympian gods basically treat humanity the same way that we treat the sims.

I think the darkness is supposed to be "the abyss" as in "if you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back". Besides Sandy, there's also her monkey sponsors. If you consider the monkeys in the Madagascar series were highly evolved even compared to the other animals in that world- then on land in the SpongeBob world, monkeys are also a higher evolved species like SB and his friends. Sandy is probably the first of her species - in the episode where Sandy is missing Texas (I think, it might be another episode) but I know she has flashbacks to Texas and she is shown as a normal squirrel. Why wouldn't it just show her cartoon self in Texan clothing? The reason is because she WAS a normal squirrel, became intelligent (maybe the monkeys experimented on her?) then moved to BB to conduct her studies.
