I got half way through today's NYT article about a songwriter finding an epiphany in the life of Mary Magdelen. And writing a song. And everyone applauding and praising. All I could think was, Richard Shindell got there way before you and did it better. There was no way to comment on the NYT article so I comment here.

It's always feels so familiar to hear their voices. Like an old friend you haven't spoken to in ages, but when you finally speak, it's as if no time at all has gone by......

This is completely new to me---song and singers both. Gorgeous on all fronts. And that sweet Gibson reminds me of my dear old J-50, sold (sniff) in 1969 to my idol Steve Ferguson.

love richard's music! great live recording called "courier". check him out. he tours the states (is an ex pat living in argentina) and is well worth the price of admission.

Lovely song, beautifuly song. I love Dar's vocals on cry cry cry but this is also very good. It IS his song after all. Thanks for posting.

I love Lucy when she does harmonies for other artists, but have not been able to get into her solo material.

I saw Richard right after he released Sparrows Point! During break he was smoking a cigar! He was nice....

I just heard this on "Sound and Spirit". The version there was on an album called Cry Cry Cry. This version is wonderful. An Easter Treat.

Several years ago I mentioned liking this song to a friend. He replied that he'd been at Columbia when Richard was at the Union Theological Seminary, and wrote this song, and would see him playing regularly. Easy to be jealous.
