This is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, I will never forget the 1st time I heard it back in the mid 1980`s It makes me cry everytime I hear it. RT has written some amazing pieces of music, but this is just so special.

This is one of my favorite RT songs. It is a song that will always be a reminder of a time in my life when I was struggling with PTSD from my experiences in Iraq...How will I ever be simple again?

lying in bed with a hellish migraine today and this song came into my head, I just had to hear it when I dragged myself out again. Thanks for the upload, a sublimely beautiful song that I haven't heard for years x

Completely gorgeous. RT did this one live up at the Mystic in Petaluma, CA a few months back and the song damned near broke me. "Nothing but fever, and ghosts in the water". Damn. The man is brilliant.

I was there! So stunning. This is a song about a British soldier in Northern Ireland. Some of my favorite RT songs I cannot find on spotify or itunes. I had this original on disc but my dog ate it. I've never been able to find that random album again. Another on that album was "Jennie my love". Can't find that either. He is my favorite singer/songwriter. Brilliant.

@@westcoastfalconry The album has been discontinued for some reason (has its moments, but a lot of dross like the two albums that followed it), but Jennie is on a number of his live albums (More Guitar and Semi Detached Mock Tudor for example) and this one is on some others, including Celtschmerz.

Wonderfull. No live video here but the song and the delivery speak for itself... I only wish I could truthfully say that it speaks for all of us here on this restless and war-torn planet......
