There are no EU Regulations, there are EU Directives which set out minimum standards which must be implemented. Each EU member state formulates its own national Regulations based on the framework directive. Those regulations are debated and voted on in each member state's parliament. This is what people like Tice misquote over and over because they know the public are uniformed they get away with it.

EU Regulations have direct effect. National Law might also be written but EU regs have direct effect as if they were National Law. Directives, on the other hand, need to be implemented by member states, through national law.

Jeremy Vine is awful. I hate just how smug he is. Yet he is often extremely clueless. He is also horribly biased. He will happily let right leaning guests talk uninterrupted. But any left leaning guests barely get the chance to finish a single word without him interrupting. One I can remember from his radio show was when he talked about sleep and had the leading expert on sleep on the show. The expert was very good, and at one point, Vine says something incorrect, so the expert corrects him gently. Once the interview was over, Vine immediately went back to that comment and said something like "well I know I'm right, the expert was clearly wrong".
@AlanIsHarmony

@@mattyb7183 When George Alagiah died in July last year, Vine was waxing lyrical about his old friend and how it was a tragedy and how he'd be missed. Just a few weeks before this, he'd been happy to read out an email from a member of the public, where they believed that the only way to stop people in boats was to "let them drown". And Vine read that out without a single word of criticism.

A very important point the £350million for the NHS was promised additional funds. Now politicians are twisting it by quoting total current funding of the NHS. Additionally over time with inflation things will naturally go up. There was never £350 million available because of all the rebates and schemes that the EU sent funds back to the U.K. Thanks Phil for making these videos, I’m pleased someone is being persistent in exposing the untruths.

One of the darker episodes was the Singapore government's attempts to hide the high levels of suicides especially from high buildings during rush hour with notes and letters describing the shame of not being able to pay the medical bills of children for their elderly parents. TV and radio stations interviewed many of these victims live. And yet in the U.K. with so little reliance on Russian energy we have seen energy prices skyrocket, way more than in the EU countries - a direct result of no longer being part of a massive trading bloc and being too weak to impose windfall taxes on the energy companies.

Max, my issue with the Tice saying we got the £350m side of the bus money is that the implication was that we'd have the money we have now PLUS this £350m for the NHS. We're putting more money into the NHS, sure, but it's not that money. That money has been swallowed by the loss in gdp, business moving to the Eu, and the mishandling of our finances. That £350m is coming out of our pockets. We're paying it!

The least of the Brexiteers can name just one EU regulation, nevermind its purpose. For example: - EC 1924/2006 Health-Claims-Regulation i. e. prevents that companies don't advertise health claims on products that are not scientifically proven. - EU Directive 94/62/EC Packaging directive defines what minimum information about the product needs to be on it to properly inform consumers. - 2019/2161/EU and 96/6/EU Regulation for basic price labelling ensure that consumers are not cheated by deceptive packaging through unambiguous, clearly recognizable and easily legible information. - EU Regulation 2016/679 EU-GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) makes sure, you are champion of your private data whether it is online or offline. - EU Directive 2022/612 No roaming charges for calls within the EU

I understand they need to be careful with accusations and assigning motivation, but they can, with the likes of Tice, tell him his argument is dishonest, that he's being dishonest.
