Richard Wagner's operas have a dense and intense performance history. Every new interpretation of his works therefore always triggers a great desire for explanation and discourse.
In the context of Stefan Herheim's new production DAS RHEINGOLD (premiere on 12 June), we would like to publish an introduction talk: the dramaturges Alexander Meier-Dörzenbach and Jörg Königsdorf are taking their time here to talk about the composer, the historical context and the plot of the work, explain special features of the production and, last but not least, show extensive scenic material.
Directed by Stefan Herheim, under the baton of Sir Donald Runnicles with Derek Welton, Thomas Lehman, Matthew Newlin, Thomas Blondelle, Markus Brück, Ya-Chung Huang, Andrew Harris, Tobias Kehrer, Annika Schlicht, Jacquelyn Stucker, Judit Kutasi, Valeriia Savinskaia, Irene Roberts, Karis Tucker and the Orchestra of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
A film by Chris and the FATSOX
