It is marvellous how Wagner incorporate the cosmic spiral cycles into his music. In most passages you can hear curls with different speeds and frequencies. He interpret spirals of the galaxies , the suns, planets, ADN simultaneously, but you can listen and identify each one. All in universe moves simultaneously making spirals . Wagner was aware of that and incorporated into his music.

The picture shows a home coming for the hero, surrounded by nymphs in flower filled fragrant meadows. If only! I have always found Parsifal way to spiritually melancholy, to be so rapturous as depicted by the opening picture, even though its one of my favorites of Wagner.

I like every work by Wagner, including those non-canonic works that Wagner himself discarded. Anyway, selections such as this one are liable to disappoint many listeners as you can't satisfy everybody. Of course, the Tristan and Lohengrin preludes are magnificent, but regarded musically they are'nt better than the ouvertures to Rienzi and the Dutchman.

The beginning of Walkure isn’t an overture, it’s just the start of the opera with the initial storm scene. The Ring only has one prelude, at the beginning of Rheingold.
