The brainwashing doesn’t begin in university. I recall in high school, I read a book on the Red River Rebellion in Manitoba led by Louis Riel. In the book, he was a hero fighting for his people, but in our textbooks, he was a madman and a traitor. When I wrote about the Louis Riel I had discovered in my library book, I was flunked on my history exam. When I complained, I was told the exam is based on the textbook, not on the reading I had done on my own. That was 60 years ago. Today, there are streets and institutions named for Louis Ruel, he is a Canadian hero, and his execution by the government is regarded as having been unjust.

The very founding of Am3ric4 is completely different in the European telling. We scraped up all the religious zealots, the criminals, the insane, the prostitutes and we put them on ships to Am3ric4 to get rid of them. I'd hardly say we are proud of our actions, but the interesting point is how they differ from the American version.

It creates and destroys money to balance payments. You guys are living in a perfectly preserved version of the world that existed in 1995, and so is most of Europe. But its not real. Professor Wolff makes the correct (imho) assertion that both political parties have been essentially the same. He also stated that a majority of people can’t/don’t want to understand the realities world they live in. He then states that Trump is irrelevant…Trump performed a hostile takeover of the Rep. party, with BOTH parties vehemently opposing him but was still able to get support from 40-50% of voters. To me this would show that people are largely aware that both political parties are part of the same machine, and thus they DO understand that specific reality of the world they live in. I’d argue that if a large plurality, and near majority are voting against both parties (Trump), his idea that people do not understand the reality of the uni party system is necessary false. Such a strong deviation from the political uni party of the last 75 years seems very far from irrelevant, regardless of where a person stands politically.

And another thing that just came to mind is that yes the United States of America was born because of many sins that were committed. Horrible disgusting things were done to human beings - - the indigenous that were here before the European came - - the black Americans that were forced into slavery. But now here we are in the present. All of us. We have a very important job to do in my opinion and that is to do everything we can to make sure that Donald Trump does not get in the White House. I feel like Mr. Wolf seemed somewhat callous when speaking about what Trump could possibly do or not do should he get in the White House. Mr. Wolf is a very smart man and I would ask him are you have you been paying attention? I Don’t mind if we decline as an empire. I don’t want us to be a mighty industrial military complex Empire that keeps on exploiting Third World countries but I also don’t want us to lose the good things about the United States of America. Much reform is needed. But Donald Trump just wants to take a torch to everything and anyone who thinks that’s irrelevant is just even a tiny bit out of his mind, even if it is just in that moment that he speaks it.

Trump was able to get 3 nominations in a row because republican voters forced the party to nominate him. The democrats on the other hand don’t have a democratic process ask Bernie, and how many votes did Harris get? Totally un Democratic . So some differences do exist.

If they understand that both parties are part of the same machine, then why elect an artificially tanned buffoon who represents the same status quo, but with a potty mouth? If people understood that the US was a duopoly, they'd vote for the 3rd parties, not keep the status quo
@matthewkopp239114 күн бұрын
Trump still is Uni-party. He announces the fake president Juan Guildo of Venezuela and gets a standing ovation of democrats and republicans including Pelosi. Trump will mostly do what he is told. Trump however did not conform to several issues. He is not liked because he is not a complete puppet. and he is unpredictable and will often be very blunt as to what is really happening which they don’t like. Trump doesn’t follow the script, and sometimes when he does he will say the revealing truth of it all, So it is unusual to have a president who actually makes independent decisions. This hasn’t happened since Carter. But Trump still mostly follows a party line. Every president since Carter were mostly puppets.

I was a bartender when his 'tax the tips' policy went into effect, and was soon taking home weekly paychecks of less than $10. So were millions of other bartenders, waitresses, busboys, cabbies, etc. Meanwhile the top ten corporations - including Reagan's old employer, Westinghouse - were posting billion dollar profits and paying NO taxes. Bush and Trump gave even more tax cuts to corporations, and the Dems did absolutely nothing to stop them. Currently 95% of the wealth in this country is held by 5% of the people.

The new amount you are entitled to is £217.46 a week, starting on 04/11/24." As you may be aware, 25p isn't enough to pay for a cup of tea at the charity stall of my local church. Come again? The rich keep getting richer, power is increasingly concentrated and unaccountable, our supposed freedoms are all conditional, all outcomes are secondary to profit, most people believe that their interests are congruent with those of the ruling class, and the working class is neatly divided into two groups that mutually fear and despise each other. The government is completely in thrall to a handful of powerful individuals and corporate managers, guarded by millions of pampered lawyers and bureaucrats. The labor force floats securely on a huge pool of unemployed, incarcerated, stateless or homeless internal refugees. Police have never been so numerous, well-armed, and powerful. The stock market delivers money to its investors like a cow delivers milk. Kids graduating from Ivy League schools are guaranteed well-paying jobs doing next to nothing for life. The world cowers in fear at our ruthless, sadistic, indiscriminate use of lethal force against entire populations. The second-richest continent, Europe, has been enslaved. The only threat to the system - revolutionary socialism - has been all but destroyed and replaced by state-sponsored groups aligned with liberal ideology and goals.
