How to save 12 minutes of your life: 1. Alarm System (sounds alarm when locked with windows down & breezy) 2. Foot Room (I agree - very little space for size 12 shoes) 3. Entertainment / Multimedia System - (outdated and peculiar controls) 4. Body - (Wheels don't stick out enough?) 5. Door length - (Coupe doors 58" are longer than the sedan doors he is used to.) So nothing relevant in the real world, 👍 Put windows up when locking car 🚗 Drive in a correct seated position Swap out an outdated media system to one that supports Apple or android systems. Wheels are fine unless you want the racer or wannabe gangster look Don’t buy the car if you’ve got weight issues Oh and the MC transmission is well known for being rubbish, as is the skyhook suspension (which again is taken from Citroen 😬) so standard model is best 👍👍👍👍👍

I have a 2013 and completely agree with everything you said. I end up installing new wheels and tires to fix the large gaps. Went with 12" wide 21" rims in the back with 325/30 michelin tires and it looks insane. Changed the entire look for the car. I also upgraded the entire infotainment system and went with the latest Tesla 13.6" apple car play screen which has all the AC controls built in. I also updated the gauge cluster to all digital. I also upgraded to a push button start and did away with the key. In all I spent close to $9K and did it all myself. It looks better than a 2023 model in my opinion. Next I am going to install a performance chip and increase horsepower by 40-60.

Is there a mandatory 2500 annual service required?? Oil change fluids balancing belts etc
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
the recurring service that you have to do to your vehicle is either ever 2 years or every 12k miles. The things that will have to be serviced will sometimes differ but most of the time it'll just be an oil change and checking the fluids
@bronxbomber96166 жыл бұрын
Richard Cuico what is the avg cost of that? I was thinkn of purchasing I’m discouraged by the maintenance tho
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
it's hard to say since I just hit that point where I need to take my car into servicing. However, I've seen other Maserati guys say that it's around $1.6k-$2K for that maintenance which is not bad for every 12k miles. Oil changes are about $350-$600 which is included in that $1.6k-$2k estimate. Tires are about $1.1k. When you put it in perspective for a $150k car it's not too bad. Also if you buy a car that is out of warranty I strongly recommend doing the servicing yourself since some of them are fairly simple. If you buy a car out of warranty then make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection to make sure everything is in tip top shape

Spacers or wider wheels/tires. Infotainment has always been a downfall on the gt, so I replaced my unit with a modern iPad mini, wayyyy better. Only other issue I’m not fond of with my gt is barely any mods avail as far as performance, novitech has a few things but cost so much for such little Hp especially their ecu tune is barely 40hp for 3k, exhaust is already amazing especially is sport mode. Best looking gt car, and best sounding gt v8 car of all time!!! From a roll they are pretty fast, but racing any modern coupe it will lose, even to a mustang gt, but from a roll it can hit 190mph!!
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
You'd think after several years they'd do something about the infotainment system but surprisingly they didn't. Not sure about the 2018 models though but hopefully they did. You're right about mods though. Parts are expensive for little gain. I have several things planned if I can save up money but it might be awhile from now. If you're looking for maybe a diffuser or something check out MFR engineering. They do some crazy stuff

Richard Cuico -yea the 2018 has the same infotainment screen and set up as the newer Chrysler’s, but same climate control and cluster, I have the best idea for the grandturismo, they need to replace the engine and trans with the 3.8tt v8 from the quattroporte which is shared by the 488 Ferrari, would be so much faster and way more in the leagues of other gt cars, also replace the cluster with a digital or tft screen.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
That would be incredible if they would do that. I would miss the old 4.7L but if they put the 488 engine that would help the value of the GT stay consistent rather than it dropping 50% after of 2 years of ownership. It seems like Maserati is just focusing on their 4 door sedans since they do sell more. Poor GT getting no love.
@adamsdailydriveway6 жыл бұрын
Richard Cuico - for sure but grandturismos are already overvalued from new, but in the used market they have been steady for the 4.7 2010 and up around high30s-60s for a used mc 2012ish, and a 2017 same body and engine you will pay 100k for one, so I love that the body stayed the same from 08-17.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
ya you're so right about that. Way too overvalued considering how much they drop. When we bought this car we got it for 67ish which was a bit lower that the other MCs out there on the market so we werent complaining. Totally agree with you with the body. Hasnt changed one bit and fortunately the reliability has improved from what I've been told as well.

I am on my second Masi GT, so here is my two cents: I agree with the gas and break paddles being too close. I have already had my foot on the gas paddle three times thinking its break and had engine rev up crazy luckily all these were when I was starting the car. Second thing is the passenger side mirror, it does not retract back to the original position when coming back out of read gear to drive. Once in a while it only come back halfway. And lastly, the driver-side side mirror slightly rattles on high speed. I have had two Masi GT, one 2012 and one 2016 both manifested both mirror retract and rattle problems I mentioned.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
thanks for sharing your experiences Mark! Since you're on your second Masi it's safe to say that you absolutely love the car just like I do. However, it does come with a few quirks here and there. The gas and brake peddles are hopefully addressed in the successor to the Maserati GT because after 2018 Maserati plans on laying it to rest (so I've heard from a reliable source). What I found to be the solution to that is either driving with no shoes or smaller profile shoes like Vans. With the rattling of the mirrors I fortunately haven't come across that yet. Speaking of problems have you even experience a total coolant loss in any of your GTs?

Dude! Whatever you said you hate the Maserati GT, but I love it so so much. I own my GTC for like 5 years, and now I'm still driving it for the daily drive. The car you drive is very comfortable, it is not like other sports car's room that feels so tiny, the space is good, the driving vision is very good too, and the seats are very comfortable. I'm 6' tall and every time I seated in the Maserati GTC I feel that the driving seat space is very roomy!!!! I don't feel I drive a sport car, I feel that I drive a sedan car lol....Also the sound, OMG I have to say that is so delicious, it has 4.7 liter naturally aspirated engine, it makes sound so fantastic, because that 4.7 V8 engine was modified by Ferrari. I remembered that the Ferrari California the old version they used the same V8 4.7 engine on the Maserati GT Or GTC 4.7 engine. Perhaps, my Maserati is convertible version, every times when I open my top and driving on the Santa Barbara's seaside road, feels so great. So dude please, if you own your Maserati GT like more then 3 or 5 years then you can list everything you hate it! For me the only hate thing is the battery, if I go out like 1 or 2 month the battery will completely died, that is I only hated.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
honestly after making this video I've just grown to love it more and more and these problems are not really problems hahah. As far as I know the the 4.7L Engine is made by Ferrari but isn't shared with any Ferrari model. The battery thing is unavoidable but as long as you have a battery tender you should be good!

As a used one u can get it for 50k. That one worth the money. All in all it is a Ferrari engine in a less sporty shape.

2 door sports - long doors help getting at or into the back seats. It's a feature. If you had Honda doors, you'd be complaining about the rear access......... I like long doors. You're clearly parking in the wrong part of the parking lot with a car like that. Anyone who cares about their sports car parks it out in the back 40.

Let's be honest here anyone who knows about cars knows that Maserati does not know how to make a performance vehicle. Maseratis are for people who want to look cool as they drive down the street.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
I actually wanted to cover this in a future video but it's because they can't since they'll be competing with Ferrari
@dylansmith67686 жыл бұрын
But Maserati doesn't even make good cars, I mean the interior was very outdated and it doesn't live up to the price tag. I don't think Maserati is too concerned about Ferrari because Mercedes and BMW both make cars that can easily outperform any Maserati. Maserati is focused on making a high-performance luxury sedan and there are many companies that do it better for cheaper. That's why I'm saying its for people who want to look cool because they're flashy cars that sound really good (there is no denying Maserati makes some of the best sounding cars). Sorry if I'm coming off as a hater but the only purpose of this car is for attention.
@slartirzr6 жыл бұрын
Maserati and Ferrari are both owned by Fiat, and it is the mother company that does not allow Maserati to compete with Ferrari. Which makes sense from their perspective.
@bencarrington72606 жыл бұрын
@@slartirzr it sucks cos the maserati name is classier AND has been around a lot longer than ferrari. I'd take a maserati over a ferrari any day

I also own a Maserati and the only thing I dislike about Maserati is that the engines are crossplane and not flatplane crank
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
had no idea it was a crossplane. Probably because since it was meant for gran touring rather than racing, they wanted the drive to be as smooth as possible.
@308beatZ6 жыл бұрын
That honestly sounds about right. It is defiantly the most comfortable I've been at doing +150 MPH. For being crossplane it's still one of the top 5 best sounding V8's in my opinion. I've owned mine for about 3 years and still puts a smile on my face when I start it up.
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
Yeah at high speeds it's as smooth as butter. I totally agree that it's one of the best sounding v8's and possibly one of the best sounding cars in my opinion. You really can't but help but smile when you hear it ahhaha. Speaking of which I'll have an rev battle video between the Maserati and a Huracan coming out soon so watch out for that!
@chijen20106 жыл бұрын
If you want the flatplane crank, pay up and buy the Ferrari. Nothing sounds better than a Ferrari with the roof down driving through a tunnel. Nothing.

8:03 "i can fist it" ^^ The thing with the buttons behind the steering wheel (4:13) is strange: when i bought a Alfa Romeo in the early 2000´s, the dealer also showed me the Maserati GC he had in the show room. And i remember clearly that one of the set controlled the gauges and the other one could change the radio stations/skip tracks on a CD. And it worked always, without having to fiddle on the headunit first. Maybe you have to configure it in the settings to work that way, dunno...
@RichardCuico6 жыл бұрын
I've tried fiddling with it but honestly it really isnt a huge issue just reaching over to the radio and changing it there. It's just a weird quirk that the car has so I've left it alone. Would be cool if I can change it to the way you've seen it work tho!

This is a beautiful car, sexy body, amazing sound, but the biggest problem with this car is that it is really slow, comparing with other same price cars this one definitely is the slowest, when a half price of this car trying to challenge you on the street such as M4, RS3, and you can’t do anything about it this will not feel good. Also when you seat into this car it’s like you seat into a 20 years old car, it does not telling you are in a luxury car, you are in a Maserati.
@RichardCuico5 жыл бұрын
it is definitely a slow car compared to it's rivals at the same price point. Just like you said though, this car makes up for it in the way it looks and sounds. It is pretty dated but I love mine so much. Hopefully the next iteration of the GT is outstanding because when this first came out it was

The Japanese market (where I am sure they wanted to sell cars) requires a,certain amount of fender overlap of the wheels. all these dummies and fanboys always dislike any video when someone says stuff about a car they don't like, seriously you guys are so immature, anytime a video like this is made, the person always makes it clear that they still love the car and they are just some annoying things about the car. Of course they are first world problems, it's an expensive car we are talking about anyways, what were you expecting when you clicked on the video, engines exploding every 10,000 miles? That's called dealbreakers, not things to hate (then the video would have been titled "5 reasons to stay away from").... this video like others just point out "good to know" annoyances you might encounter as an owner who actually paid a hefty price for their car........ if first world problems bother you so much then why do you even watch videos about ownership of expensive cars? A good example is that common knowledge says a 150k base msrp car should not have an all plastic interior.... and based on disliker logic, you cannot dare complain about that because it's a first world problem and you should be happy to give them your hard earned 150k in such a first world country regardless of quality...... see how stupid that sounds..... dumbest logic ever... seems like pure jealously, if you were the one paying 150k for a car, I'm sure you would damn well expect a good quality car beyond fundamental mechanical durability which is a GIVEN.....

flexing on your car while whining is SO getting old. the remote can operate windows and alleviate your issue. you use both feet to drive and the heel and toe position it offers are perfect for an experienced driver. the doors too big? wow. tires not wide? umm its handling is related to the tire size. comparing that work of art to ANY hyundai is criminal. lol get some music that doesnt SUCK please when showing off that art. ;) your car is beautiful love the spoiler and grille work. body lines are just amazing. i hope you have many safe worry free miles in it. 👍🏻
