5 Things I Hate about my Maserati GranTurismo

Here are the 5 things I wish I knew before buying my Maserati GranTurismo. (2015 GTS convertible)

After getting an AMG, I realized how easy Granturismo is to work on, and how reliable it is for its finer designed and more solid materials. Then after I drove the Huracan, I realized how much more emotions this car provides. Right now I want to get a 2018 MC version, and there is only one on sale in the country! MCs are so rare.. more rare than many other Ferrari, and definitely more rare than Lamborghini.

I've definitely seen more Huracans than I have GranTurismos. I drove a 2020 huracan evo myself, and it's unbelievable how a car that's $200k cheaper is more enjoyable to drive lol!!! Good luck on your search! Let me know when/if you get one.

@@ProfessorDrives After you own almost everything, you will eventually come back to GranTurismo. "The outdated" interior is actually considered classic design in my eyes with the non-digital dash and the phone pad thing.

There are replacement head units out there including for the a/c. Another channel has a fix for the door handle. Your leather needs a full clean back to matte finish.

The parking sensor issue at the red light is something you have to set (turn on or turn off) in the system screen, I have mine set to off because I do not want bumper to bumper traffic beeping anytime I am at a red light.

There were less than 41,000 GranTurismos made for the entire global market for its 12 year production run, of that about 11,800 GranCabrios (convertibles) were made. Give or take that is about 3,395 units per year so the GranTurismo/GranCabrio are indeed very limited production cars. For Asia and Europe the GranCabrio is the convertible GranTurismo. For the North American market, there was no GranCabrio it was a GranTurismo convertible. The convertible models are more in line with Ferrari production numbers from that era. Historically Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Lancia were low volume limited production (hand built) cars. When the 360 and F430 were made, Ferrari started marking more and more cars. Ferrari in the last 7-10 years has been making around 13,500 production units per year for the entire lineup. Ferrari is known to underestimate the production numbers (which is intentional on their part).

Maserati's depreciation issues stem from the De Tomaso era Bi Turbo. The Gen 5 QP F1 duo-select also had problems prior to the 2007 ZF 6 sped gear box update. Maserati never recovered from the "unreliability" stereotype

Make sure to plug into a tender when not in use... Once the battery goes low voltage, warning lights will start to come on the dash for no reason

the wining noise probably is the power steering pump, check fluid, even replace it.

Did you just admit to pad swapping, lol. I thought the would have devoured you in the comments. Generally that's not a good practice bc the pads would just get ran through again (used rotors would have uneven surface on pads). But due to cost of parts for this car, I understand it.

@jacksonueland If you got a GT, definitely not. But a Ghibli would be mehhh. I've driven a 2019 Ghibli and the GT just brings it to a whole new level.

Just wanted to chime in since I've owned a Giulia Ti Sport and Ghibli SQ4, also in the market for a GT... The ghibli is a much larger and heavier than the Giulia, and you're going to feel that in the turns for sure. I wasn't particularly a fan of it. The GT is less practical and less economical than either of the other options, and the tech is ancient (but can be upgraded aftermarket). The tradeoff however is the gorgeous styling and exhaust note.

whats your thoughts on used bmw m4 comps for under 65k used or is their a better car like that for around the 65k range

So I've driven the F82 and the G82 M4 Comp on this channel, and I honestly can't see myself getting one. BUT, I'm sure an X drive G82 M4 Comp would be crazy good. The rear wheel drive just DOESN'T grip from my experience. For $65K on the dot, here's what comes to my mind: 1. Shelby GT350 2. C7 Corvette Z06 3. C8 Corvette Stingray 4. Mercedes C63s AMG 5. 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 6. Maserati GranTurismo 7. Jaguar F-Type R BUT, honestly, I'd be patient and wait until I can go for the $80k-$100k mark because that'll open you up to: 1. Nissan GTR 2. Audi R8 3. Shelby GT500 4. C6 Corvette ZR1 5. 997 Porsche 911 Turbo Edit: BMW's are great, but the inline 6, and the lack of RWD grip didn't do it for me

I'd highly recommend the XDrive models. The RWD is on par with the cars he named but once u get an XDrive it smokes every car he just listed .. 0-60 2.8 sec and an 11.0 quarter mile. With a very high tech and super luxurious modern interior. That many of those other cars simply don't have that will get annoying for a daily driver. Plus the s58 engine is literally so reliable and probably the best new engine as far as tunes and mods. Simple intakes and a downpipe and ur in the low 10s.

I’ve owned mine since 2007. I’ve added a lot of modifications to it. All the haters really have no clue about Maserati…all they say is that it depreciates - no shit Sherlock. Yes, these are super expensive to maintain…but the experience is amazing. This car is for a different breed of people…if you want something new and boring - go buy a Mercedes/BMW/Audi/ or whatever. Ok haters, fire back with your own experience from owning one of these.

Great review of the MGT. BUT, hate is a very strong word, and to use it in this day and age in a video title is irresponsible. Your doing so helps to fuel the misguided and misinformed non-owners of these fabulous cars to believe the false information about their quality that you, yourself, bring up in this video. I say this because I was ready not to watch it just based on your video title. As I said, a lot of people in this day and age don't make it past the "HEADLINES."
