Great analysis. Usyk fought like the champ - dictated pace, landed the harder, crisper punches. It was as if he didn’t even acknowledge a size or power differential. Usyk conducted himself like a boss….

Criticism on Fury is harsh. You can only do what your opponent allows you to do. If it was easy to walk down, impose your size, strength and power on Usyk, then the likes of AJ, Dubois and Fury would have been able to do it easily. Give credit to Usyk for being adaptable and having the answers for whatever his opponents bring to the fight.

Regarding Fury's lack of aggression in the later rounds: Let's face it, Fury is afraid of Usyk. that's why he didn't want to fight him in the first place. Fury knows that Usyk is a very fast and accurate puncher, so he's cautious about walking into traps. The same applies to Joshua and Dubois who were also hesitant to attack Usyk. It is correct that by the late rounds Fury had no other choice, but I think he preferred playing safe and going to the scorecards (and probably losing...) than being plastered all over the canvas.

@@xerikl so let me ask you this: why did Fury avoid fighting Usyk for 2 years? It was obvious that he doesn't want to fight Usyk, and he finally agreed only when offered a HGUE sum of money by Turki Al-Sheikh. I mean, he was chased by Usyk during the 1st fight even in the rounds in which he outboxed him, and in the 2nd fight he stood his ground but still wasn't aggressive as expected form the the big man who's facing a second defeat... so why didn't he try to get Usyk out of there? Fury fought well, was more aggressive and used his size a bit more than last time, but only a bit more. What was the point of putting on weight if you weren't going to really put that size on him and go for the kill? If you're going to mostly just box to a decision, you're just carrying more weight around for no reason. Where was all the "damage" we heard so much about? I wonder if Fury really believes what he says about the scorecards, that he was winning both fights, and that's why there wasn't the urgency. After the weigh in I made my decision. If a 40 pound weight advantage wasn’t enough, a 50-60 pound advantage won’t help anymore. Eating himself up to 280 was not worth the effects that the size has on his activity, volume, speed and stamina. Even if he needs to walk Usyk down, he needs the energy and volume to chase Usyk with power punches. 254 Fury threw nearly 700 punches against Wallin
@vin87549 күн бұрын
Furys whole approach was very weird. He came into this fight at his career heaviest, or at least close to it, seemingly with the game plan of bullying Usyk more than he did the first time around, and yet when the fight started he only really seened to try doing that in 2/3 rounds of the whole fight. For the other 9 rounds he seemed to fight the exact same as he did in the last fight except worse, as the weight caused him to gas even earlier and forced him to only be able to fight in spurts (which is why so many of the rounds he won were very close), and because he barely threw as many uppercuts as the first fight. To me it, it actually seemed like he was very afraid to engage Usyk like how he did against Wilder in the second fight, as he could never get out of the way of his left hand and was worried about having another round 9 situation like he did the first Usyk fight.

The bigger man should've pounded the little man into a defensive posture but that never happened. Fury knew if he went for the KO and failed that he himself would get KO'd eventually. Fury decided that kind of energy expenditure wasn't worth the squeeze. Joshua had Usyk hurt a couple of times and didn't try to finish him for the same reason. Somebody really needs to hurt Usyk to the point that his punch output drops considerably. They can't outpoint or outwork that man.

It seems that Usyk enough discreetly prevented Fury from landing his straight right hand powerfully. Even not powerfully. Usyk did that by puting a front foot pression on Fury. Not saying he’d win a 3rd fight but it’s definitely more compelling and competitive than anything else in the division for me. And the pair of them could retire on that, whatever the outcome
@guiness110010 күн бұрын
My gut feeling is Usyk retires and never fights again. He's already cleaned out the HW division and there are no legacy fights left for him. He's already 38 years old and no one can really "call him out" because he beat them all (Fury x2, AJ x2, and Dubois by KO). I believe he walks away and goes down amongst the all-time greats. As for Fury's plan and why he didn't just sell out in the 8th or 9th round, as the saying goes, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all". IMO, Fury (or any other "super heavyweight") needed to adopt an 8-round fight strategy meaning he needed to sell out from round 1 to get Usyk out of there by the 8th round or accept he will lose. Usyk's biggest weapon is not his skill or power, it's his stamina and he weaponizes it by making these super heavy weights fight harder and more continuously than they are capable (leading to their inevitable decline as the fight wears on). Fury gets no time to rest during the fight, he can't simply clinch and drain the clock like he could against a Wilder or Cunningham or Wallin. Usyk forces Fury to move or throw punches or evade Usyk's punches or something for all 12 rounds with the temperature constantly being raised by Usyk as the fight goes longer and as such, there is no rest for Fury all fight long. Understanding that, Fury needed to come in at round 1 and decide this fight is not going to the cards and execute that plan. Simply hoping to outbox Usyk (who also has the visual advantage of the smaller, champion, backing up the bigger, challenger) was never going to work IMO.

As a tax-paying citizen of a nation at war, Usyk will go on fighting as long as he is able to earn large paydays.

I felt that when I saw the Usyk Breidis fight, I had it 8-4. It was even after 8, but Usyk for me won the last 4. remember that it was in Lativa.

It was extremely foolish to take Fury given what he's shown us in his last couple fights. He was physically beaten by an MMA fighter and almost KO'd by Usyk. His conditioning would only get worse as he is older and does not take care of his body. As a lawyer, how do you dismissed evidence that is clearly apparent for anyone to see? The result was not unexpected, mainly because Fury didn't take enough chances to even be competitive. It was more a question for me whether Usyk would get the KO. He didn't need it as Fury did not do enough to warrant much risk from Usyk. I hope Fury goes away, or fights AJ as both are gatekeepers now. Usyk can still fight, but what more is there to prove?

I thought Fury Boxed better offensively in the first fight. That was 8-4 or 7-5 Usyk. The rematch Usyk clearly won Fury looked slower lost most Rounds 8-4/9-3 Usyk

I had it the same. I htought Usyk won the last 6 rounds. tghey called it the 4 judge, which was AI. Had that was 8-2-2
@DIVISIONINCISION10 күн бұрын
@@elnick1000 I also had Usyk with 6-12, though I had him down 4-1 at that time.

Fury looked fat and slow. Usky speed and jabs the body slowed down fury.

Usyk did not match fury’s bodyshots, he out landed him quite wide

one could see that Fury did his homework. He stood his ground and didn't allow Usyk to bully him all over the place like in the 1st fight, and he also kept his right glove glued to his chin in order to eliminate Usyk's left hook/straight punch. his conditioning was also better than in the first fight, although it was obvious in the 11th round that his gas-tank is already empty. However - in terms of strategy Fury still tried to box Usyk instead of making it 'a big man fight'. It was the same mistake as in the 1st fight: a big heavyweight can't outbox Usyk. they can gain some success only by charging at him, guns blazing, like Derek Chisora did.

He was scared to unload because of what was coming back. It's the same reason fighters are tentative with Canelo. The counters.

Afaik Usyk weighed 223 pounds, Fury probably had 50 pounds on him.

Dwyer you forgot the Chisora fight! In fact of the matter it is debatable which fight was tougher for Usyk. Was it Briedis our Chisora it is arguable!?
@G2286510 күн бұрын
Breidis. Rewatched the chisora fight and usyk had him under control after round 3
@vin875410 күн бұрын
Briedis easily. There were rounds Usyk won in that fight which were pretty close, it was pretty easy to score the Chisora fight honestly

Fury is a the biggest cheater in modern boxing fans overlook the cheating he did in his career especially in the wilder fight fans foolishly believe fury could walk usyk down and stop him but forgot fury doesn't have his special glove 😂
