Great review, thankyou. As an owner of a 2015 Panda I agreed with Richard's assessment, it's a perfectly decent cheap car to own, and drives pretty well. Regarding the gas pedal fiasco when pulling away,yes,it was truly awful and wasn't the only problem. Only solution was to get it remapped which transformed the whole driving experience. It's not Fiat's fault, government rules etc. But before the remap that car was close to undrivable, close to dangerous at times. Bought used by the way.

Drove one for 5 years, 115.000 km, only replacement was a front lamp which the garage did for free. Nothing else. THis was the 2 cyl turbo POP edition. Miss her everyday. This was the 4th panda in our family :-)

@@RichardFanders on average 1L:19KM according to my spritmonitor statistic. Keep in mind this was in a cold climate zone (the Netherlands); in the summer and on highways you can get 1L:23/24KM no problemo.

Excellent and very fair review. I am on my ninth Panda (and have had such things as Renault 4, 5 and Citroen Ami and C5 in between) But always back to Panda for tough, compact reliability, economy and space for size relativity. Goes much faster than anyone would expect, and will cruise easily at 90mph on a mway - and that is the basic Pop. Always very good - and better than bigger, more expensive motors - in bad weather and even flooded roads. I had a Panda written off by an idiot who turned right into me and stuffed me into a wall. When the wrecker driver came out he could not believe I had walked away from the accident; he reckoned, from his years of experience, a Panda was the safest and most solid little car to survive a big accident in. .

It’s a good little engine with some pull once you get the hang of it. My first car was a red 2015 pop with the same engine, regret swapping it for a 2012 1.2L 3cylinder Polo. Great review. 👍

Good honest review. I had a 19 plate lounge and loved it. After 2 years traded it for a new 21 plate mild hybrid 500. Nice car but not as practical as the Panda and after a year im trading it in for a new 2022 Panda sport. I get it tomorrow and cant wait. Me and the wife have had various Fiats and they have all been fantastic. We had a Uno 60 and was still going strong after 130,000 miles. We sold it to a young lad at the wifes work and he had it another 2 years with no problems

@@christga100 hi Jim. the 19 plate panda on average was in the late 40's to the gallon. the hybrid 500 regularly got over 50 to the gallon. best i had was 58 on a good run. the new hybrid panda sport is doing in the 40's, but not run in yet

Excellent review Richard!, I do love driving the little pandas and 500s. I’ve driven all of the available engines including the mild hybrid, and I think the TwinAir is the most fun to drive. The 1.2 is a brilliant little engine too. I’ve driven london to Doncaster and back in one and it was more than capable. Wasn’t ideal for the motorway but it still managed very well.

Excellent video! Being in the US I don't have the option of buying a Panda but we do have a 2017 Fiat 500 that we truly enjoy. We also have a Ram Promaster City, it's a rebadged Fiat Doblo that also has been great. If the Panda is built on the same platform as our 500 then I would assume it will be a great runner with good reliability. We have the 1.4 L and in three years we've done only basic maintenance and we wish more Fiat's we're available here in the US. Thanks again for a great review and video.

I recently bought the new panda city cross and it has no problem drifting, the steering is excellent on it. It also deals with potholes perfectly, you hardly notice them. The only thing I don’t like is it’s out of its depth on motorways as it’s underpowered. Luckily for me I mostly do town and city driving and parking is a doddle.

if you decide to buy 1.3 JTD (multijet) panda if its from a 2nd hand dealer check if its airflow meter is ok. If its not its easy to repair and cheap buy bosch you can do it yourself.. so if the airflow meter is broken unplug it and check if theres a significant difference in revving and going then youre good

I own a 2013 1.2 pop version that has currently done 43k miles. My experience of owning it for 2 years mirrors what you've been saying on this video. I only got the panda because, after my wife died, I had to cancel the lease agreement on the car we did have, a Kia Venga. So I just needed to get the first decent car I could afford.

This is an excellent review giving the body/engine variants and all different driving types. I notice you didn't review the wipers as it was raining. A lot of people complain you need to rotate the tip of the stick to alter wiper speeds. Otherwise excellent information.

Hey Richard. I got addicted to your videos and watched all of them during my summer holidays including the ones on the main Conquer Driving channel. I have a Citroen C3 and I am 6ft with a bit longer legs than torso. Even with the steering wheel at the highest point it can be adjusted (cant bring it closer to me only up and down) I find that I am a bit cramped in the pedals but have to stretch my arms a bit to reach the wheel. I also bump the steering wheel with my knee sometimes when pressing the breaks. Do you have any tips on seat adjustments I can make. Would bringing the seat lower or higher fix this ?

Wow, that's a lot of watching, thank you for your interest. I know what you mean, I struggle to get a good driving position in my other half's Citroën C4 for a similar reason, the steering wheel is too far forward. There isn't a lot you can do but find a car that's more suited to you. I always want to thoroughly test a car before buying it. Never feel pressured by the sales person, try many.

@@RichardFanders Thank you very much for replying. I also watched your video on gas pedal control and wanted to ask if you think this is normal. When at 1.5-2k RPM on my C3 at 2nd gear if I release and feather the throttle in traffic or in a narrow street where I want to go slow the car jerks quite a bit and I usually just press the clutch, break and coast. The lower the gear the more intense the jerking is. I can feel it up to 4th gear but quite a bit less. Could this be a dirty throttle body or is this normal in some cars ?

I've driven the SEAT Mi and the Skoda Citigo a few times. Not bad cars, although not cars l like to spend long hours in or do big miles in. Not as stable in a straight line at speed as a bigger car. Comparable with the Fiat Panda though.

In Spain this model with 145.000 Kms in clean condition would cost you around 6.600 euros. Crazy eh !!. The second hand car market has gone through the roof here with new cars not being available due to chip components not being available in Europe.

Spain has always had expensive used cars compared to the UK. I think it's because more people buy new in the UK so we have loads of unwanted used cars. We can't sell them in most of Europe as the steering wheel is on the other side so they end up cheap. Average length of life for a car in the UK is 13.9 years.

I have the model before this, from 2010, and i hate the self thinking gas pedal! I known what I'm doing, don't interfere for god sake! Also, I'm 6'2" and I'm brushing my head against to roof, my shoulder is pressed against the B pilar, the seat does not support my legs. Oh and: The rediculous position of the interior mirror. It's right on my eye level, can't look to the right (LHD) at all! I made aan adapter to be able to mount the mirror as high to the roof as it wil go..

2:31 totally wrong. multijets are way more echonomical and has high very high torque. For such a small car multijet is the best engine with 70hp 180nm of torque it feels more than 70hp though.. 1.2 petrols : 6-7 liters 1.3 diesels : (from my car) 3 to 4 liters.
