Its really neat to have an US based, east coast professional working on saws and posting to youtube. For years ive followed Canadians and west coast guys. I feel a sense of pride being from NC. Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge. I work for G&W equipment (forklift company) who have a shop in Greenville and Columbia. I'm only now finding out some of our employees were affected. Thanks again for what you do

For anyone that doesnt know- after your equipment is flooded you can drain and replace contaminated fluids and flood the motor with a can of WD-40 to buy a little time. Not saying that will save it but it will buy you quite a bit of time before corrosion becomes an issue.

I was saving tractors around La Grange during the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. After a few rough weeks of way too many hours a day i totaled my car on the way home. Hope the work doesnt wear on you too bad.

After watching this, I’m going to put my saws in waterproof bags in addition to leaving them 8’ off the ground as I have been doing. Our neighborhood has never flooded (majorly) in all of its 70+ years, but not taking chances of not having my saws after an event.

I would never have guessed that mud would pack into a saw like that

An ultrasonic cleaner will make quick work of the silt on those parts.

If Richard cant fix it, NO ONE Can !!! You're a good friend and neighbor Richard. Stay safe Richard, and hope everyone in your area can recover eventually. 👍🤝🇺🇸

Dang what a mess. I wonder how well an ultrasonic cleaner would help?

I think the silt multiplies. I swear you wash the crap out of everything and it sneaks back into the shop.

Seems every time I store a can of brakeclean to close to the saw shop I end up replacing a swollen needle in a carb. Finally stopped buying anything that didn't saw carb on it to avoid temptation
