I heard that Scott Dunbier was there, promoting his new company that will be putting out Artist Edition style books. Thanks for pushing on through your agony, Rich, and giving us a look at Comic-Con. I bet you sleep well tonight. It looks as if the Giger book might be a new mass printing of the old limited edition "sumo" sized book. I ended up getting the 40th Anniversary reprint, which is really inexpensive, but small ( about 6 x 8.5" ). I hope they show some of the interior pages when they start selling this new book, because if it looks significantly different, I'd like the excuse to buy it. They all have the same cover, though.

that's the impression I got also when checking, is it good though the one you have in its scope and selection of images with sketches/paintings and such? And like in the presentation with images covering the pages or if it is more of smaller images and a lot of text and other stuff.

@@parbackstrom7595 I can't compare, but it seems like the one I have covers all of his work (The finished work, anyway. Not as many sketches as in Biomechanics and some other books); it's over 500 pages. Some of the images spread across two pages. It's possible there was some reformatting for the one that's coming out now, but I think the 40th Anniversary book duplicates the content of the gonzo-sized limited edition. Giger always looks better big, but the production quality of my book is stellar.

Just checked. Halcyon Realms has a flip through video of the small edition here on YT as well as a nice review on their web page.

Thank you Richard for your videos. As a Latin American, it is impossible for me to attend these types of events, but with your videos and your perspective, I get quite close to the experience. Greetings and thanks from Argentina.

Awesome walk thru. That Frank Miller Sin City trade cover was sick at Kwan's booth. Love that image of Marv in the rain. That'd be dope to see you do some Sin City piece. Drink that coffee black tomorrow!

The Super Ani booth is pretty bare unless the artists are there working. I sit so close to them too. So I'm kind of used to them being around any time I want to check in

When I was 27, I had already worked for Marvel and was completely burned out. At 52 I started drawing again, but while being inspired by all the great artwork in the past 25 years, I also feel completely intimidated by it. Since I accept I won't be nearly as good as some of the really great illustrators, I just want to go back to doing what I was doing... nothing. How do you deal with imposter syndrome or otherwise find inspiration without feeling defeated?
