Intake manifolds under boost: when the air is two or three times more dense and also hotter, pressure pulses travel through it faster. This should make a 3000 rpm runner work at lower rpm. In practice, Richard's tests with the LS3 intake have shown otherwise. It's one of those things, like piston speed and pin offset. My opinion is that a 3000 rpm runner will work at 6000 rpm at sea level, thanks to standing waves, so with double the density, it should have VE peaks at 1500, 3000, 4500, 6000, and 7500 rpm.

Well, if its the speed of sound in air that you are talking about, it is only dependent on air temperature, not density.
@silkysixx3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoLotus2 you're right that speed increases with temperature. That is purely because of density decrease. I was mistaken; it's slower in denser air, not faster, so an impractically short runner might start to improve VE lower and lower in the rev range as boost is added.

hey would you be able to do an ebay intercooler shoot out?

This has probably already been figured out , I realize I'm late to the party , could it be the blower and or intercooler is hurt ?

Hope you see this.... The Belt is the problem??? I had a similar issue a couple months ago with belt slip under load. I checked everything, tension, contact amount, tensioner, etc. It couldn't be the belt, it was new..... LOL eventually, last thing, I changed the belt, problem solved! Ended up the grooves in the "original new" belt were too deep. It let the belt slip under load. I should have known better and checked the easiest thing 1st!
@Turbogto_guy3 жыл бұрын
But the thing is, if it were the belt, the boost would drop. He said boost wasn’t dropping.
@erwinnijs13 жыл бұрын
If it was belt or pulley slippage you probably wouldn't have gotten the exact same powercurve the second time you ran it. On top of that, the drop-offs in the torque curve correspond with peaks in boost pressure, which indicates back-pressure. When you run it again and don't find the problem, bolt on some stock headers on and see if it gets worse or not.

I think the 6.0 problem is the spring pressure on the seat is too light. Shim the springs.

How do you pick the size for a twin set up? Do you just do the math for one turbo and cut that in half?
