I had an idea to play a lawful neutral Judge Dredd like Paladin. I was gonna use oath of vengeance because all i have is the player hand book. But this seems like a better fit.

hi, i have a question, one of my players took this oath at level 3 and i wanted to know if the channel divinities have a limit use ? or they just can heal all the party to 1/2 hp when they are not in combat ?

Unless a specific Channel divinity says otherwise, the rule is "When you use your Channel Divinity, you choose which option to use. You must then finish a short or long rest to use your Channel Divinity again."

but that's for you to decide. Do you want to play the Knight that will hold the line against impossible odds just so another household or two can be evacuated? go for it! the paladin known as the executioner that has a strict sense of justice, to the point where stealing a loaf of bread is considered a death penalty? totally fine. That's the fun of dnd!

I get what you are saying but people like me listen to this sort of video while driving to start planning a build. I'll pull the books out when I actually write up the character but this is great to get the thought flowing.
