What a blustery Spring day!🌬 Such a lovely walk through such diverse natural areas. I imagine there is a lot of different species these areas protect & provide for. Perhaps if any birdwatchers are watching & they can bring you back & point out some feathered friends & things to look for!🐇🦔🕊🦆🦉🐸🐢🦎

No wonder Shakespeare identified his country as "this fortress built by Nature for herself... a precious stone set in a silver sea... a blessed plot"! You are most fortunate to live nearby such lovely countryside. As interesting as London is (hats off to Dr Johnson), tourists who only visit the capital miss so very much. Thanks for posting this. Now all you need is a slice of your homemade bread, a pot of tea, and maybe you can make yourself some jam (strawberry is very easy to do).

Looking very smart today! What a magical bridge, so elegant, and how heartening that view of the Downs. Yes, the English landscape, there is nothing like it. So much variety is such a small area. Thanks for showing us this.

This video has brought back so many memories. I used to wild camp there all year round. On a cold frosty October morning when the Stags were rutting you can see their breath and the steam coming off of them where they were so fired up with testosterone. Wonderful memories.

Thankyou so very much for exploring these tucked away places that we will have driven around the borders of when I was a child but which we never actually got into. It wasn't long ago that I realised that Ford, the village where there is a station near Barnham must have been named because there was an actual ford over the river. The winding Arun is a part of Sussex I don't know well enough, but getting to know more about from Yorkshire than I ever did when I lived in Sussex!

I love strong winds. I used to live in Cambridgeshire where its flat. And the winds used to be phenomenal. I used to love it so much I used to go stand in a forest. The noise and power was just amazing. Looks lovely around there Richard..

As usual a wonderful video Richard. To me the tree you were looking at seemed like a Goat Willow (often known as Pussy Willow as the catkins apparently resemble cats paws)...You quite often find them in damp areas.

Another lovely walk in our gorgeous countryside! Your fluffy tree is a pussy willow (also known as goat willow) which is a dioecious tree (the male and female flowers grow on separate trees), the male catkins look like cat’s paws and produce pollen which is blown by the wind onto the female catkin, which produces the woolly seeds.
@RichardVobes4 жыл бұрын
Oooh thanks for that Audrey - I loved the tree and the snow storm of seeds

And now the new presenter of countryfile Richard vobes. :) you are really great at the camera work Richard I've wanted to get into filming for years but never had confidence and only really have my phone to record videos, I'd love to know all the equipment you use especially on your live shows. How do you make yourself sound so clear when standing far away from the camera? Is it just your microphone? Anyway such a lovely walk Richard. Been loving watching you these last 5 or 6 months. Such a fan :)

Apropos of your very polite complaint on Sunday concerning the trolls who tell you that you shouldn't venture on walks, I hope you've seen Matt's cartoon today (12/05/20) in the Daily Telegraph.
