Walks in Sussex: Exploring East Lavant , near Chichester, West Sussex

Today I am joined by Julia Hartley-Neal and together we are exploring the picturesque village of East Lavant, starting off at St Mary's church and then taking in Drove Lane.
East Lavant is one part, which along with Mid Lavant make up the village of Lavant in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. It lies just east of the A286 road 2.2 miles (3.5 km) north of Chichester.

The yellow bush was forsythia, Richard. Enjoyed another walk of yours, exploring as usual.

The Forsythia is very early at Lavant...odd since I'm further south...perhaps it's a slightly different variety...One flank of my side garden is hedged by, (so far flowerless), Forsythia...In some ways it's a bloody nuisance because whilst it seems to grow ever upwards, sideways and inwards, (ever more woody if you leave it untrimmed), it only seems to flower for a relatively short while.... It's vigorous and forever needs cutting back, (especially from the pavement side), but since it's so very beautiful, and since yellow has been my favourite colour since childhood I tolerate it and have, (since 1985), resisted every attempt by my missus to root it out...
