Watching this again I think two things have happened. 1. The girl he had oneitis for found a better option, it wasn’t necessarily the oversharing, she just found someone more attractive to her and monkey branched. Guys do this with women too. 2. He’s put way too much emotional context into a girl he dated twice. Like even if it was a three month thing I’d understand but she will literally just see him as a guy she tested the waters with briefly.

I think guys take what women say about their preferences way too literally. Women talk about wanting a posh man who makes six figures and is over 6 feet tall, then you’ll see her the next day on the back of some Hells Angels motorcycle. I get what Rich is saying about making money and developing yourself but that’s what’s called “Using relationship appeal to get sex”. It works but it’s not necessary to get laid. I grew up with guys who were fresh out of prison with no job and couch surfing, who were getting laid by gorgeous women their first week out. What a lot of guys don’t realize is that women box men into two categories, Mr. Right and Mr. Right Now. Mr. Right has to meet a whole laundry list of criteria but Mr. Right Now only needs to check a few of her boxes. Those boxes however, are attributes that are kind of rare in men nowadays.
