My local (60 miles away) hobby shop rc hobbies in Orlando has a wide selection of arrma and losi products and one of the guys there is super big on arrma and a big fan of rich and Mitch. Love to go in there and talk shop with him, he really knows his stuff. I’m an e-revo 2.0 owner but as much as I love my truck, wish I had gone with the kraton 6s. My revo is so fragile with 6s it’s silly. I break every 3 minutes I swear lol. Totally driver error but today I hit a fence post at about 55mph and shattered 2 bearings in the tranny, cracked the esc fan, and stripped out a trencher rim....typically I break about a rod end every 5 minutes.

Well I don't know what the hell arrma is waiting on! My belief is they didn't wanna release them at the same time as it would cut into their sales drastically imo. Now if you drop the kraton 8s first then the outcast 8s a few months later I believe in the long run they will make alot more sales if you know what I'm trying to say. But I agree brotha, as I already bought the v4 kraton I said I'll wait on a outcast version. I wish they would just create a new 8s monster truck with no wing and new school truck body would be better imo. 👌👊🍻

To me the longer wheel base on the arrma kraton 8s made it more of a track racing bashing car but with the shorter wheel base now it’s honestly like a big arrma outcast but with higher quality transmission and parts, it looks like allot mote fun and maybe standing back flips could be possible who knows but this seems like an ultimate bashing stunt truck that you can go fast but pull off some insane tricks

Looks like you've found the setup for an easy backflip. Seems to just want to wheelie under throttle now though. Easy for you to handle... less so for the average hobbiest. Vids are closer in interest now to your 6s ones which makes it more fun to watch.

I'm new to the hobby apart from as a kid. I have a healthy budget for 1 car but can't justify 2 cars. So one car for occasional use at imperfect (not that exciting) locations. Strengthened (modified) kraten 6s or the same done to an 8s. Purely looking for fun and excitement in what limited spare time I'll have to use it. What would you go for and why.

That's a tough question to answer Daniel 🤔. Both models are a Blast to bash 😍. The 6s is more agile of course. The 8s can tackle gnarlier terrain given it's huge tires and massive stance. Obviously the 1/5 stuff is pricier 🤔. I think it boils down to whatever floats your boat. Both rigs are durable, exciting, and highly capable. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks so much Chris 🤗!!!! I actually ran my V3 Talion shocks completely stock for over a year and loved them 😍. The front springs finally got beat down so I swapped those for longer Tekno Orange truggy springs just to get more rebound and ride height. I wouldn't mind getting new Talion springs again as they're spec springs and rated higher than the Tekno Oranges. 👍👍😎💪👊👊

I run the Power HD 23kg for about 40$ off Amazon. It has decent torque for my needs with dboots Backflips. Really depends on how big your wheels are. I generally don't recommend really big wheels. Just found they're too hard on the gears. 😎💪👊👊

Thanks Brother 🤗. That's a tough question 🤔. Think it depends partly on the terrain you have available and which rigs really interest you. The one rig that comes to mind though is the Kraton 6s 👀. It's an all around Beast with tons of proven upgrade options and a perennial favorite for many. I love all my rigs for different reasons of course. The Kraton can go almost anywhere and gets the power down superbly. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Second comment. Had a revelation today. Don’t bother to fix ever again the mini E Revo with VXL stock electronics. What a waste of time. A FULL rebuild from top to bottom. Diff cases new screws even new diff shims to ensure the best mesh in the Diffs. 20000 rear diff fluid 20000 front diff fluid VOILLA blown Diffs and driveshafts on 2 s ON 50/50 mode. / kid mode🤷‍♂️ Pavement run with LOOSE slipper and NO jumps. That’s Traxxas tough baby. Lolololol Back to the Arrma drawing board ❤️👊😀 Few parts left 4 s 17mm hex and wheel nuts and a servo and my new hybrid typhon 3SBLX with 4 s arms and slipper I even got the LP backflips 👊😀👍👌

Yes indeed 🥰. I stopped using the Spectrum DX2E several runs back in attempts to eliminate the AVC altogether. Couldn't disable the reciever via the manual instructions 🤔. Using the tried and true old Tactic TTX300. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Hey Rich, I’m in the market for my first horizon car and I’m looking for something a little smaller for my local skatepark. Lots of kids on scooters and I don’t like running big rigs there. I was looking at the arrma typhon but would prefer something a little smaller. What do you recommend from horizon in the 1/16 scale to 1/12 scale range? The ramps are a bit close together and I was looking for a buggy/truggy with good air control. Also, the ramps are metal. Really appreciate your feedback bro. (Loved your typhon power lines jumps)🤙

Thanks Bryan 🤗. You might consider the Granite or Typhon 3s👀. Both are light and very agile for skatepark duty. I've found mine to be very durable. The Granite seems almost perfect for park. Especially with hex extenders and softer MX28's. I'm not sure what to recommend from the 1/16- 1/12 size 🤔😎💪👊👊

Thanks so much Michael. The only mods I've done are the Hobbywing 5687 1100kv motor, Max5 ESC, and M2C Crusher chassis (still in testing) with M2C K8s motor mount (already available). The rest is all tuning with the fluid weights I shared in the video. Got the 20mil cst diff fluid from Gravity RC, 29T 8mm mod 1 pinion from Saga Custom RC. @@michaeldunn3387 no problem 👍. The stock electronics geared taller may be more exciting with the shorter chassis 🤔. The speed is about equal between the standard K8s chassis and this SWB M2C option. Guys that want a rowdier stunt based feel will really love it 😍. Wheelies and flips no problem.

I keep busting planetary gears (or that tiny rod that sits behind them) in only my rear diff. Any idea why? I have the Arrma kraton V4 6s

Sorry to hear that Brother 👀. The V4's do come shimmed differently from previous models. You might try replacing the smallish stock planetary shims with Mugen Seiki E0206 ones. Also consider cutting your own set pins from hardened drill blanks if they keep breaking. It's possible your diff case or cup is defective or damaged 🤔. Make sure your drive cups and bearings are healthy too and driveshaft isn't wobbling. Hope this helps. 😎💪👊👊

@@EastTactics If you Google drill blanks you'll find several available options. 01 tool steel may be the way to go. Use digital calipers to measure the pin size and match the diameter. @@EastTactics I've only cut pins for my dog bones. Don't break enough diff pins to sweat it. The size is about 2.2mm x 9.5mm. I sent you the link for McMaster because they sell a vast array of quality raw materials in different hardnesses👍. Any hardened drill bit the same thickness could work cut with a Dremel. 🍻

The reason is for pulling easier stunts. Just like the Kraton vs Outcast 6s. I love both beyond words 🥰🥰. What shocked me is how stable she still is even shorter 👀. Think it's the 1/5th weight, suspension, and considerable stance. 🍻😎💪👊👊
